Stainless steel goes better with your stainless steel DeLoreon from the 80's

Smart guy! People only see what they want to see. It creates more problems then it's worth with both customers and employees. Gold watch not so much I guess, one of my employees noticed my Sub Lv (not gold obviously)and said "dude that's like a thousand dollar watch". I couldn't help but smile/nod and say yea something like that

There's no denying that a Gold Rolex will look great on some, and very gauche on others (such as myself).

Definitely see what you mean, but I think it generally looks stunning. Love it on Elle Macpherson :)

Can't recall exactly. I think female members objected, thread was locked. Not just for this pic, though.

if you feel pretentious then you probably look it.

If however you are comfortable with yourself then you will enjoy it for what it is - a watch.

As for Elle - that looks a bit scary to me.

I am a scummy poorly dressed man in bad need of a haircut and I wear the YG GMT green dial all the time with my track suits.

I have never had anyone ask me about my watch.

For that matter I'll also wear my Pateks with sweatpants, flip flops, and a Budweiser NASCAR shirt.

I wear SS for everyday and office.
YG on occasion.
I used to say that if I ever had an all gold Rolex I would wear it everyday, but when that time came I just didn't.
Love it anyway.

I'm not sure what the situation is in Canada, but I see all sorts of relatively cheap faux YG and RG watches here in Japan, especially on young women.

must be a lot different in your part of the world , all i ever see these days are gold micheal kours , [every time i write that i spell it differently] they are the watch to be seen with these days , like tag used to be . so actually gold is low key at the moment ,,, granted , they are gold color not actually gold , infact more brassy copper ,, but you get the idea.

I don't know whether you're guy or girl, but golden watches are in fashion and many are wearing golden watches including digital retro casio and new michael kross. and no one will notice you're wearing rolex unless you stick it up on their faces or they're watch fans... I doubt you'll stick it on their faces so if they're watch fans and still think its pretentious then they're just jealous ;/

Chaps

I think to be brutally frank, a heavy gold watch, such as a Rolex, looks just plain trashy. I have a Rolex Explorer because it looks understated and that is how I like it. I am also looking for a Sub no date, again because it does not scream Rolex.

I also have a 1954 14ct gold JLC and that looks even more understated than the explorer because it is slim.

I think you have to feel at ease with your watch and wearing some chunky solid gold Rolex just sends out the wrong message. Stick with stainless as you will be far more relaxed in wearing it.

Regards

Mick

People, including our government, complain about us -Kuwaitis- that we are big spenders. We spend our money on what some may call useless such as jewelry, electronics, vacations and cars. My argument has always been... don't blame us for being like this but blame the government it self. They have made it IMPOSSIBLE for us to own a house and ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to rent one.

Young couples now continue to live with their parents even when they have kids while other "wiser" men and women decided not to get married at all. Because owning a home is the ultimate goal for any living being not only humans... and since we have given up on that goal... we are left with the other things to spend the money that we earn from our hard work every month.

It is sad especially for a young man like me who just started his own family.

Actually they do but it is anything but subtle! As for wearing gold Rolex--everyday except when wearing platinum ones! Who cares what anyone thinks. Also I have had only a few people even notice what watch I was wearing over the years. The only one who it matters to is me as I am the one who appreciates it and knows what it is!
