I prefer the box and papers too. When looking at higher-end watches the certification, authenticity and history are key for piece of mind as well as resale.

It's all relative - for Khalid this piece isn't exactly 'high end'.

I vote for box and papers from experience. I purchased many years ago a Chopard Mil Miglia from a private seller in Miami before a cruise. I sent it for service about 2-3 years later using my AP. My AP calls and asks me to come in to read a letter he received from Chopard. It seems that watch was part of a major theft in Germany and Chopard was keeping my watch. No ifs ands or buts!

I say no go! What's 10K more when you're dropping 55K? If you decide to part with it in the future you're going to be wishing you had the complete set. If it was less than 10K I would say it's ok.
