My daily beater is still the 16610, after seeing this post, I might just drop by the local AD to try on the DSSD for size. The wrist is only 6.5inches though, hence have been apprehensive about the size of this beast :)

Congrats it looks great. I believe for many the size both case width and thickness are just too big for many thus this piece doesn't get the attention it deserves. It is a wonderful watch

Well, all I can say is if you do the following 2 things when you try it on:

1. Feel the sturdiness of the Glidelock, and lock the fliplock closed
2. Turn the bezel and hear the smoothness of the clicks

You will be ruined with your 16610, guaranteed!

By the way, on my quest to see wrist shots for around my size, I would say I came across a lot of 6.5 wrist size shots...you would be surprised how it looks.

Funny you mention the case height, that was my concern too. Next week will be the first week with work attire; I am looking forward to seeing the fit. My primary concern is not having to adjust my shirt cuffs - we will see. I will definitely be taking a few shots throughout the week.

Yeah it was the height for me not the diameter. I have owned the DSSD 3/4 times myself

Congrats. Looks good on you.

The box you got looks like the normal sized one, the DSSD should have the big one if my memory serves me.

Hey you know what, I believe youre right about that. I actually noticed that the other day, so I spent some time going through TRF threads and have found that some owners have gotten the larger box and some the smaller one. Is there any kind of official guideline or reference number for the box? I'm not bothered by the smaller box but would definitely like to receive the correct item.

Awesome choice! It's nice to see the enthusiasm for your new watch. It is my daily wearer, and never feels uncomfortable.

I don't believe there is a set official guide for what watch goes to which box.
The watches are shipped to the AD in a small sealed plastic box (coffin). From there, the AD packages the watch and related items into a box of their own accord.
If there is a set platform of directive from Rolex, AD's certainly don't follow it........as many here have different boxes for the same model of watch!

The best part however, is we don't wear the box!!

The watch sits perfectly on your wrist, congrats.

But with my 6,3 wrist, I'm afraid this one is not for me….

Probably because of that gaudy "ORIGINAL GAS ESCAPE VALVE" writing across the dial that ruins the watch, IMHO...

Now, indestructible, sure, I bet it's pretty indestructible.
