I like the new watches with the modern updates and upgrades.
Can't call my 14060m vintage, it was one of the last made before the ceramic/maxi case/hefty clasp and bracelet. Fortunately my Explorer I has that new bracelet, and my DJ, well, it is what it is. I am not a collector, per se, I'm content with the few nice pieces I have.

Can anyone raise their hand if they've ever met someone that's replaced their ceramic bezel?

I totally agree. When the new larger case / ceramics came out it renewed my interest. I went to my AD to buy a new GMT. I came home with a new old stock GMT. Since then I have searched down a gold sub , gold Daytona , gold president , GMT pepsi....all classic and mint. I have bought all these over last three years and now my collection is done. All because I cannot warm to the current designs of Sub and GMT. So yes I'm with you.

I can relate somewhat. I picked up a 114060 a couple months back just as I wanted to try one out longer term, and a decent used buy came up. I do like it, but being honest with myself, I prefer my 14060 between the two. I don't see myself getting another ceramic bezel model, but I get why they are appealing, particularly considering the sophisticated bracelet changes that come with it.

All rolex are good imo. Modern are solid and clearly improved in terms of functionality. Vintage have character which makes them often unique and harder to come by. You cant lose!

The new lume is definitely better, though. Tritium paint fizzles out and dies, rendering your not-that-old watch useless in the dark; I'm very glad they got rid of that stuff. I also like the bigger hour and minute hands for the same reason. |

Well in the real world they are, the clasp could prove to be a improvement and if the thin sliver of ceramic was DIY interchangeable. And if it was around the same price as the aluminum inserts, then again it could prove to be a improvement over the perfectly functionality and changeability of the old insert.

Well, I think it's a bit difficult not to like the Cerachrom bezels of the Pt Daytona and of the BLRO...

I think there should be space in any collection for both ceramic and pre-ceramic Rolex SS sports watches.
I love both although I currently prefer the ceramic bezel versions. |

I like the upgrades, especially the bracelet solid links and glidelock clasp.

I personally thing the only vintage pieces I would like will be diver watches (Sub or SD) because I really dislike the older clasps on other models.

But let's face it. At this price point for a stainless steel watch, stamped sheet metal clasps, and anodised aluminium inserts ? Seriously ? That was unsustainable. That said, I personally like the pre-ceramics and pre-maxicase designs better. |

I'll take one of each please, ceramic or not, modern or old school, the Sub is a classic.

But Cerachrome is still beautiful. Vintage and modern, they both have their charm.

I would not be without my ceramic GMT BUT I have started really liking the new omegas and the AT GMT is getting most of my wrist time, It has a gorgeous metallic blue dial, great presence and pretty blingy.
I have swapped a couple of ceramic subs and not regretted it and like you fancy an older watch next stop pepsi gmt!!

love the ceramic models they have better bracelet/clasp and the ceramic bezel is much more durable than the cheap aluminum inserts. Seems people hate the lugs and that is their excuse for bashing the new watches on here........

I currently have 2 subs. The subc date and the subc no date. After getting the 114060 I keep thinking about trading it in towards a 5513.
there is just something about the classics that keep calling my name now =) |

I'm generally a modernist so I like the newer models but times change and people change so this may too change in the future.
