Have yet to see the 116600 in person but from the live pics I'm still swayed towards the clean and simplistic look of the 114060
But then I did flip my 116610LN for the 114060 |

For what its worth, i had both the 14060 & 16600 at the same time for about a year, looks wise, the balance of the sub is the biggest draw of the sub over the sub date...truth is when i look at the SD, due to the style (size & color) of the date, the balance is present on the SD as well + you get all the other bells & whistles...i eventually sold my sub & kept the SD, it was the best choice for me.
But those where the older versions, the newer sub bezel is more substantial compared to the older version. The older bezel felt significantly less substantial than the SD bezel.

If you can't have both you gotta stick with the Sub.

Date visibility should be an important factor.
As an active person date feature is important for me. I couldn't decide without seeing SD in the flesh how I can see the date in dim light thru my glasses. Date window seems to be small and digits written with thin lines, mainly to fit under the cyclops. Date on my 7750-driven watches are on the border line of visibility and the SD seems worse on this.
Hope this helps. |

Personal taste really - the new SD is a bit heavier than the a Sub, but is a very nice watch. You could not go wrong with either!

SubC + Date + extra depth = SubC + $1k + $2k = New SD4000 So, if you are fine willing to spend $3k for date and extra depth, you should go ahead. But if you think you are fine without date and never gonna use the extra depth, then no point of paying for it unless you wanted a kick by owning the 'latest Rolex' in the market! |

114060 all the way. I would also start an account to buy the SD. A little here and there in a few years both will be yours. If I could have only 2 Rolex watches it would be a Sub and SD.
Good luck
