I'm in a somewhat similar place deciding between BLNR and 116710 black bezel GMT Master II. I can get a gently used 116710 for $2K less than the BLNR. It will be my 1st and likely only Rolex for a long time. To afford the BLNR I will need to delay purchase for several more months... and since there is little discount on the BLNR and few being resold, I likely would just spend the extra $500 or so in taxes and get through the local AD. I'm torn about spending an extra $2500 to get half a blue bezel and blue GMT arm (and associated benefits from a local AD purchase). It makes little logical sense but if I keep this watch for decades... an heirloom, will I always regret I did not wait the extra few months to afford the BLNR?

I have both. Because you have the tudor Sub, I would get the GMT. However, as an only watch I would (and did) go for the LV. In terms of wearability, I really don't notice when switching between the two. The BLNR is neither excessively chunky nor heavy.

But you really can't go wrong. At all. It's impossible. So keep that in mind.

Here's a pic:

I have both and love both. If I already had a Tudor sub, then it would be BLNR for me. First nice watch? LV for me.

Change the insert of the LV after paying the premium? Not to mention desecrating such a classic. I'd choose the BLNR because it's versatile, beautiful, and has a useful complication... and because the alternative is against my religion.

Is there any version or s of 16610LV with the blue chromalight lume? If not then that may seal the deal for the BLNR.

No, the 16610 LV is only available with green Super Luminova lume.

Just gorgeous. Tnx for the pix!!!!! It looks like art. Im convinced that the BLNR IS the new iconic Rolex as it is so representative of all that is good about the brand. If you were only going to have one, the BLNR would almost have to be it.

And then I find this idea...

It's very R2D2 which I love, dammit! now I'm thinking I really don't want to worry about a ceramic bezel and this is the way to go, more versatile since you can easily switch between color and black. Argh!:

And don't forget the added benefit of people thinking that you own a fake watch. :)

The Blnr is getting all the love on this thread, so I am gonna give my two cents for the LV.

It takes a little getting used to I think with the green. But it is just smoking cool. That and the pure fact that they just are not making them anymore. That would be my choice.

LV hands down! It is versatile, classic, and just feels special. Good luck with your decision!

I'm feeling the LV but I just don't feel the green, and I really don't care if people think I'm wearing a fake, honestly most of people I'm around couldn't tell the difference between a Rolex and a Seiko.

If I were torn between a GMTII and a Sub, I'd ask myself which one would meet my needs better.

I like a Sub and dive watches in general because the bezel is something that comes in handy quite a lot.

I haven't bought a GMT yet, because I'm not doing a lot of traveling these days and when I finally get around to doing some, I'm not sure if I'm going to really care what time it is back home or in some other time zone.

If it all boils down to cosmetics for you, then the choice is a subjective one and no one can provide an answer concerning your own tastes.
