Try to return it.

If that doesn't work, look in the who's who section on here to find who the trusted sellers are. Then look for an Exp II from them. Or, become a Pledge Member and list it in the classifieds here yourself.

Yep. That's what I would do. There are plenty that come up here in the FS section and a LNIB Subc should do well against one. Win win.

Don't forget OP if you're in the UK you can't ship the watch to the USA, so that negates some of the advice given here re trusted sellers....

In the UK you're limited to the likes of Blowers/Iconic/Xupes/Hackett Watches etc

Yup if you go these dealers route or ebay or TZ-UK you will take a £500 loss at best, probably more.

I would give the subc more time, the Pam 005 looks pretty sedate to me so don't really get why the subc is so uninspiring to you. I suspect it's not the watch at all, but you being 40 and thinking a "Rolex" will make you feel a certain way that is your real issue.

After 40 yrs since my first Rolex (TT DJ), and many watches in between, I now wear a Subc as my everyday, and believe it is the ultimate rolex (FOR ME).

At your stage of life, you have to decide what kind of look you want in a watch. And keep in mind that tastes can change. In 20 years you may find an appreciation for the Sub.

Best of luck. Buyer's remorse is extremely common. Give it a few days before making another decision. Your dealer should accept it even without the stickers, for an exchange.

First welcome. The Sub c IMO is not very close to the bond watch.
The first subs were an off shoot of the TOG with an icrease deapth rating.
The bond stuff always makes me lol.

Brother. All due respect. Man up.

Stop whining about it and make the trade. You have many options.

You lost a few bucks, but nothing you will really miss.

Trade for the watch you want and just figure you paid a little more than you should have, for something you really want.

This is not a big deal, unless you make it a big deal.

Sorry your purchase didn't work out as you had planned. Maybe that will change over time and maybe not. Luckily, you have options. The best is to work with your AD to get a full refund or full value towards another watch. Next best option is to work with AD to figure out an acceptable re-stocking fee and credit towards another watch. This would be the least painful way to go before thinking about a sale to a third party.

Hi Devine;

Sorry to hear about your situation. If you can afford it, just keep it. These watches will grow on you. I got a GMT pepsi almost 30 years ago and felt the same way you did. Today it is one of my favorite watch. It was the same for my DJ.

You will take a big hit financially selling it now. It is a classic and you cannot go wrong. Maybe this is the beginning of your watch collection.

Cheers, Daniel

Welcome to the forum. You have worn the watch and in effect it is already second hand. I would give the sub a chance and wear it for a few weeks and see if it smiles at you, if not trade it out with a grey dealer or sell it privately. Do a quick search and you will find plenty of grey dealers in England who I am sure will want to take a stainless steel sub off you. Best of luck.

If you actually used the watch for what it's designed for you might think differently. But as it is just jewelry to you, then sell it. It's like buying a seriously capable SUV and saying you find the styling bland when all you do is drive it on the interstate to a parking garage 5 days a week. Subs are popular, and I'm sure you'll have no trouble dumping it.

X2 Your AD wants you to be a satisfied customer. If all you have done is remove the stickers, the watch is still in brand new condition and you are within any customary return time period, you can very likely get a full refund towards another model. Just make damn sure you clearly hear it singing to you!

really not a big deal - we all make choices that end up not working out and, in the long run, now youve got a good lesson (i.e. dont pull the trigger if you are not sold on the watch in the first place).

i know there is a lot of love for the sub (rightfully)....but its not for everyone - i could see where someone might think it plain, spartan, etc....for others, that is part of the appeal.

no real damage done here, in my mind

I always cringe a little when I see the "what should I get next" questions on TRF. Seems to me one should really investigate the options in person and get what is right for you, regardless of the prevailing tastes expressed on TRF. It's interesting how one can second-guess one-self however, if TRF is the primary source of opinion one follows in the selection of watches.

I found myself doing so a couple of months ago when I passed on the GMT IIc BLNR and a Sub C Date. Just wasn't for me, and ended up with a DJII, with which I am really happy. But I did question myself, as in, "What am I missing here"? The only thing that matters is pleasing yourself with any acquisition. To each, their own.

TRF is made up of great people with the best of intentions and you can learn an awful lot on this forum, but as to an arbiter of personal taste and satisfaction with a watch acquisition, that lies completely with the individual, IMHO.

I hope you can get it back to the AD for a credit or flip it soon, and move on the watch that is right for you. Enjoy the time in Spain! This is a minor blip in grand course of things.

I have always loved and wanted a Rolex. When the time came and I finally bought one (SubC), I wasn't as enthused as I thought I was going to be which was disappointing in itself. Even though I can afford it, I've never spent so much on a watch and I think that affected my excitement. After a week or two went by I was/am in love with it. I love how it looks, feels, and the accomplishments it stands for. The longer I have it, the more I like it and now it doesn't leave my wrist.

You can either give it a few weeks and see how you feel, or go back to your AD. If this is the biggest problem you're facing right now consider yourself blessed and fortunate.

I bought my 114060 almost two years ago and was thinking of trading it back to a 14060m and tourneau said it was fine but do it quickly. But I kept it and just bought the other one too.

Let me play the devil's advocate here. I think the OP is just joking or trolling. Someone from rolex forums made a new account to post a controversial statement about the most beloved and popular submariner of Rolex, just to see what or how Rolex fanboys like you and me are going to react. We were taken for a ride, i guess. Lol

If you purchase with a credit card you can use Return protection.. More than likely tho only higher end Amex will have enough return protection on it to work with a new Rolex.

x2. I understand people are looking for validation of their choice, but unless you are buying to flip where the secondary market size matters, ignore the opinion of others and buy what "sings" to you.

OP: Try to return it and let us know how it works out. Best of luck.
