A G shock. "I'm thinking of a FF for a beater"? You can't be serious... There's no such thing as a 10k beater

The sub is a no brainer to me, I wear my 16610 through everything and it does it with a smile.

Pam 233 would be an awesome choice. It is such a clean/classic choice that is very versatile. Wears smaller than other Pam's with their domed crystal and 8 day movement. Have you looked at IWC too. Maybe a Aquatiner or Ingenieur. I know you aren't a huge Onega guys however that Omega dark side of the moon speedy is great on their cordura looking strap. Just a nice touch of red in the dial. Good luck.

Alright you guys, thank you very much for your input. I really appreciate it.

My final 2 were BP FF and the PAM 233.

I asked the missus for her opinion, to help me with my final decision and what she chose was ultimately what my heart was leaning towards.

Expect an incoming in the next few weeks! (Depending on how fast I can find one)

It might be a little cliche, but why not a SUB or Speedy Pro?

It's all relative. When the rest of your watches are north of $25k, $10k can definitely be a "beater." But I think we use the term too liberally and someone's "beater" is someone else's "grail." My "beater" is a Seamaster Pro 300m, which is a great watch. I wear it on weekends and around the house because I don't have to worry about water (working on the pool) or banging it on something when doing light mechanical tasks (working on a car and yard work). But in reality, I still take pretty good care of it, and I think most of us here do the same with their "beaters." But I agree with you and I do have a G-shock when I know things are going to get dirty or rough for my watch.

Excuse me, I didn't mean to offend anyone. It's all relative though, my "grail" watch can be someone else's "beater". I've seen AP tourbillon watches that sell more than a $100K, being treated worse than a G-shock.

It's not like I am going to bang it around on purpose. I don't work manual labour or anything like that, so I am pretty sure my "beater" will get very good treatment and care.

A PAM on a 6' wrist?

If I were you I'd go with this... VC Overseas: holy trinity member and great for all occasions and situations, also fits your criteria w/ a date function!

This. I wear the Hulk daily, and don't worry about it at all. Tough little bugger.

Don't worry you didn't Soly, some of the PP guys refer to the Nautilus as their beater and they sure do mark it up! At this level of watches we are all living in just different degrees of cloud cuckoo land that most non WIS find unimaginable!

I'm certainly not offended... I just think it sounds pretentious calling a 10k watch a beater. Regardless of how much money you have. A beater IMO is a watch you do exactly as termed, beat on it. Whatever that might mean to anyone. Throw it around if need be. Let the kids grab it, drop it, throw it to their friends. If your beater breaks, you don't send it in for a service that costs more than
the watch, you toss it. I'm assuming you are just referring to a beater as a everyday wearer. I just
think they're two different things.

16710 or 16570.

If you really mean beater, go for the 16570.

Another pictorial vote for the FF

I find this such a comfortable watch, and wears much smaller than its size suggests
