Sub would be my first choice; generally not as fond of the BLNR. If it were a choice of the two in black, I might switch to the GMT.

I would choose the BLNR GMT
More versatile, love the bezel and the GMT complication

I own and love both but blnr barely edges out sub if I had to pick one. The pcl's, the subtle blue on the bezel, and the fourth blue gmt hand are mesmerizing to my eyes. The subc is my work horse, but blnr is the show pony. Lol.

If you can only have one, the 116610LN.
The PCLs are scratch magnets, and the glidelock clasp is a dream come true. |

OP what 2 watches did you sell? How long did you have them? Did you like them? Do you want one of those back or something different? There is no wrong answer to the question you asked. Since you made no mention of need for actual functions it all comes down to what you like, want to wear and what you like looking at. Only you can decide that one. Personally I like the looks of the blnr better and the GMT is one of the best watches Rolex makes. Honestly the black GMT might be the way to go and save some $. The sub is way too common and that shiny ceramic bezel and that fat case kills it for me. The sub is supposed to be a tool watch, the old ones were, with the new ones they made it too much like shiny jewelry. To me, PCL= shiny bezel, all brushed = matte. Look at the steel bezel of the exp 2 vs Daytona..perfectly done with shiny vs brushed. Gmt/ YM2= shiny ceramic, sub should be matte IMO. They messed up with the case and bezel on new sub's and the new SDC shows they know it. It's really a shame because that glidelock clasp is revolutionary! You would think that big block case would make more sense on the beefed up SD, but even then it needs a wider bracelet to make it work. If they gave it the SDC case and a matte bezel that changes things on looks for me and makes a huge difference, but still too common a watch in my opinion. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk |

Do you want to see your watch on a lot of other wrists or do you like to have something a bit different? You won't see a lot of BLNRs out there (I still haven't ever seen anyone else wearing one) but you will see tons of subs. If that doesn't matter to you I would go sub as it's a classic.

When I bought my BLNR I had SubC in one hand and BLNR in the other. I went in there to buy SubC specifically. I chose the BLNR because I knew I could use the GMT function, and it just spoke to me more. I also prefer a splash of color, and not having the same watch as 6 guys at the bar every time I show up for a burger and a drink. The blue bezel is so subtle in regular indoor lighting that it doesn't interfere with any outfit.
To each is own, though. Put both on and pick the one that's more you. I actually have grown to like the PCLs. Gives it a little dressy look when you need it, but not too dressy looking to wear with anything. |

Classic sub for a one watch collection...
I'll toss this out there...my real choice... Why not look at black dial GMT...I think it's one of the best deals on secondary market along with the the exp II... You get a classic black ceramic bezel with the additional time zone. Wear it for a while on with the PCL and then have the bracelet brushed out for a great looking Rolex sport watch. Plus the money you save vs buying a new sub or blnr will have you on the way to watch number 2! Let us know what you do! |

i would actually compare both LNs (the BLNR isnt a great 'only' watch to me, given other options)....then, it really depends if you want a touch of dressy/bling or a more pure tool/sportier aethetic that is still dressy enough.
for me, i find the GMT LN seems to give me more pleasure. im thinking about picking up a Sub-C, though....but i put on my DSSD and then wonder 'why' |

As a one & only I'd always choose the black, silver or white piece over the coloured one, be it bleu, green, orange or whatever.
