I like big watches but have gotten away from the really oversized ones. Awesome watch, what really matters is if you are comfortable with it..

The 44mm is definitely too big.
The 40mm is okay...but just barely. It looks like it's riding quite high on your wrist. Maybe a GMT IIc would be a better choice due to the flatter caseback? Or a 39mm Exp I? |

If it's comfortable for you & you don't mind how it looks on your wrist then go for it. I myself won't wear anything larger than 42mm & that's pushing it for me.

It's not the 44mm diameter that looks too big for you... it's the case LENGTH that makes the watch protude over the end of your wrist that makes it look too big.

I wouldn't worry about what WE think--what do YOU think?
For 44mm looks awesome and is meant to wear big and bold. I'd stick with 44mm... |

Too big, that AP wears huge in general, perhaps a 42mm ROO? The sub looks perfect IMO

Have to say it looks too big...and I tend to think if you have to ask, then you probably feel the same way too. I have a 7.75" wrist and since I added a couple rolexes to the stable I have struggled with the thought of selling my 47mm panerai...it might just be too big.

Aren't you wearing the watches a bit too high on your wrist as well? I think it would look better if you wore it a bit lower/more to the left and not on the bone.
Like this the AP looks too big. |

It's a big watch but it looks good to me. You'd need the xs strap for a better fit.

Yeah it looks pretty big...but close up wrist shot pics usually make watch look much larger than in person.
In my opinion if your wrist is less than 7.5 - 8 inches.....44 is too big (that is my opinion only...not trying to make any enemies here)...I love all watches |

The 44 is definitely large, the 40mm is also large, but looks better IMO. But ultimately it doesn't matter what some people on some forum think....it matters what you are comfortable with.
May I ask your wrist size? I am guessing 6.5 inches? |

If I had your wrist I wouldn't wear the 44 but it's all about your own taste. I get the sense that you probably feel it's too big. I wear a 47mm 372 and sometimes I think it's crazy big, and other times it feels perfect. Very subjective.

I think some people are enamored by the piece itself more than actually how it fits on the individual. It looks great in the case but does it truly "fit"?
Use this illustration: take a $3,000 off the rack Zegna suit. It's looks great hanging on the hanger and the quality is excellent. But when it's two sizes too large and the shoulder pads overextend your shoulders how does it make the suit and the person wearing it look? In this case, does the "it only matters how [the individual] feels" or how how it looks to others? |

I think you can get away with either if you are comfortable.
Clearly the Sub wears smaller because it is smaller but the ROO isn't too big IMHO. As some have said you do look to be wearing both a little low as if they are around your wrist joint. If the crown digs into the back of your hand when you perform a press up, it's too low. |
