My 08 M3 with 29,000 miles has needed a new condenser for the last 3k miles. $4k bill to take out the entire dash, to replace a part that's not supposed to break.

No AC in the midst of summer stinks.
E30s were and are great and easy to work on AMD my E36 is not too bad. In the US I get great parts cheap from Bavauto.com. I love my older BMWs

Funny I've just been thinking about an E36 M3. One of the first cars I ever lusted for.

I should have qualified my earlier post with "modern". Never own a modern BMW outside of warranty.

The E36 M3 isn't a bad car by any means, but compared to other M3s, it's the lamest of the bunch. Unless you can get a euro-spec S52, the US version isn't even an M motor.
