One of my local AD's recently told me that he understands that Rolex will be producing a Pepsi GMT as soon as they have mastered how to manufacture a two-tone ceramic bezel.

Now, in my experience, AD's don't really know that much about the technical stuff. And ceramic bezels are already two-tone because they've got numbers on them, so what the AD really means is that Rolex has yet to master the manufacture of three-tone bezels. But then, Royal Doulton mastered multi-tone ceramic about 200 years ago. Am I missing something somewhere?

Either way, I love my 1675 SS GMT to bits - it's always been my one and only Rolex - but if they produced a ceramic bezel Pepsi GMT IIc then I might be tempted to 'retire' my 1675 . . . . !

Stan.

I feel the same way Frostie.

Recently I was thinking of flipping my Sub for a SD. I've always admired the SD, but the Sub is the one I wanted since I was 12 years old. It's been to Florida with me three times, Toronto, Niagara Falls, Yankee Stadium, a Buffalo Bills game, and numerous other places. Not to mention logging over 20k + miles with me on my motorcycle.

It's my first one. There will never be another first Rolex for me .We have too much history together for me to get rid of it. It's a keeper

I feel you

It's been two months owning my watch and i look forward to make some history with it. (I allready made some you know what i mean)

This summer i am going abroad and this will be time to make some history with my watch. I have a lecturer at the university that wear a gmt from the 70's and we had a talk about his watch he told me that he would never sell as it was his first rolex and he traveled to many countries with it. I told him i bet that your watch has a lot of stories to tell

Just like you said there will never be a first rolex again

16710 Z serial

My first (only) was a gift. I'll have it forever, then pass it to my son. Can you say "family heirloom"?

Funny I thought one would be enough but now I know that someday I'll have another.

If you pass this watch to your son it's going to have great sentimental value.

If i could pass my ceramic GMT to my son one day ( i am not married right now and i don't have kids ) it would something magical for me it would be like a family legacy

Any time you want a new one just send yours back to RSC. From what I hear they come back looking like new. Not to mention they get completly overhauled

7-1/2 years. No service. keeps the same time as when it was new

Even if I had to send it in now, at that rate it would be two services in 15 years. I'd be a head of Rolex by about $500-$600

When I bought mine, my AD's father was in the store at the time. He was wearing a 16613 that ws 12 yeas old and never serviced. He said it still kept the same time as when he bought it and it didn't leak.

You guys are making me jealous My first one was gone a long time ago. For me, it's not so much the watch, it's the stories it has under it's belt. That's the biggest reason I dumped the GMT and bought the SD. This way, I get to start fresh and someday, all the stories under it's belt will be mine

Since you got the SD, you've been sick But do you have a story of how a nurse made you feel better

Wow, you're right I either caught your germs over the phone, or this POS is bad luck and it's time to flip it

One the watch makers of my AD had a GMT II Pepsi on his wrist when I picked up the SD. We had a conversation about the GMT II, and he bought the LAST one sent to Danish AD's.
