My girlfriend confirmed what many others in this thread have said. They find out about a price increase when the new book gets to the store and not a moment sooner. I asked her how much notice they get from Rolex when a price increase is happening. Her response was: "We find out when the clients do which is when the new price book arrives at the store. With the gray market being what it is and the forums you read regularly, you will likely know about a Rolex price increase before I find out."

From what I understand, no, they are not. You pay the price at collection when yoi pick up the watch. Not what the price was when you paid your deposit.

This is correct. Ordering a Rolex and leaving a deposit does not lock you in at the current price. If a price increase happens after your deposit but before delivery the remaining balance due will be whatever the price is after the increase.

My AD locks in the price on any watch that is in stock at the time of putting it on layaway.

Now if you order a watch he doesn't have in stock, he's not likely to eat the price increase, if in fact he has to pay the price increase.

I was at my local AD again today and all of the models that I would usually look at were increased, the Sub, GMT, Datejust II, Explorers 1& 2. It looked like everything has increased. Also, when I was there last week they had removed the price from every watch in the store before applying the new ones to the tags

Oh man and just when I was thinking we hadn't seen a price increase thread in awhile

Well sooner or later one of these will be right and as we all know it is long overdue... lets just hope it isn't 20%

Well Ken said 5/6 months ago none for the foreseeable future which I took to be about 6 months, so as I've bought a couple of Rolexes now I think the future is unforeseen so bring it on.

Well, if it does happen I suppose that will give me plenty of breathing room to acquire the piece I'm eying and still beat the next price increase.

I was very very close to buying my DJ when in truth my AD called to say prices had gone up that day - as we all know, by surprise. He made it clear he was not going to charge me anything more than the negotiated price we had already agreed upon.

they range the last one was 2 years and 4 months ago. But it's pretty much when rolex sees fit they raise the price.

Hong Kong just had a price increase on Sept 1st! However, it was only on certain models!

Will the 3% to 5% price increase have the same effect on TRF (For Sale: ROLEX brand watches) section..??...
