Glad your family is now safe. I can't imagine the emotional aftershock.

Not a great idea unless you want to do permanent damage. Generally the idea of mace is that it's temporary/reversible.

I'm pretty sure the home invaders are not thinking about whether they are doing permanent or reversible damage to their victims. I don't know why they should be extended that courtesy when the shoe is on the other foot.

probably shouldn't break in and rob the place then... Break in my house and the last thing I'm thinking about is the intruders recovery time...

Several years ago (4, maybe 5) this same scenario happened to my neighbor in Turks. He, his wife and 2 children, rented a house and it was invaded by armed thugs who tied them up and took all that they could grab. The family was emotionally scarred but physically unharmed.
I went there two years ago and stayed in an all-inclusive resort that I never left. I don't think I'll ever go back. It's a beautiful island along the coast with some of the most colorful water I've ever seen. The airport is really 3rd world; the worst I've ever been to. All in all, there are far better, and certainly safer, places to vacation.

Glad everyone is safe. Very sorry that you had to go through this.

Horrible, no one should ever have to go through something like that.

Glad no one got hurt. Good luck dealing with the mental part.

Terrible; seems like time to get a large nasty dog on the premises. Our too although not nasty due seem to scare the uninitiated. I hope your son recovers quickly.

Hey all! Thanx for the kind wishes. Everyone is actually doing great. We were pretty strong before as a family but this experience pretty much cemented it. Thanx again...no worries!

I'm very glad that you and your family are okay. That must have been very traumatic for everyone but by the sounds of it you won't let this affect you much. That's great to see.

I'm glad everyone is relatively alright, too bad you were
Home to experience it.

As for everyone recommending the SN being reported to Rolex, it's a good idea in theory but I believe Rolex only has a stolen watch database for each country, so if this goes in a British RSC or anywhere else it won't be flagged as stolen. And I doubt these thugs will sell it in the US.

Amazing what people will do for a few bucks. I'm just glad they let you go, I got mugged when I was 15 or 16 and it was the scariest experience of my life. I'm glad your family isn't dwelling on it and it brought you guys closer. Atleast there was a little positive in there despite an awful situation. Hopefully you get your stuff back/replaced soon. Sorry to hear about this whole unfortunate situation. I hope you guys stay safe.

I am happy that you're all OK and are keeping up the spirit. Could have been very different with desperate robbers. Hope the Police finds them.

You mentioned you intimidated the robbers to leave, that's very brave considering they were armed. Glad that no one was harmed.
