I've been keeping up with this tragedy too, Tim. Sounds like it might be a challenge to catch this guy due to the environment he is in. They say it's very dangerous for the LEO's hunting him because in the woods there is no containment. I just want him stopped dead or alive and no one else to be hurt by this psycho.
Also, Tim, when you talked about people you've arrested seeing you in public gave me the creeps. It has to be a very weird feeling. Do you remember every arrest? Over 26 years there must have been thousands. You keep safe, my friend!

Ken, I do remember most, some obviously more than others though. I've had run ins with people who will start a conversation with... hey, I know you from somewhere, not always a good conversation follows that one... oh yea, you're the p*l*k that arrested me back in....

Thanks Bas, I do have mixed emotions when something like this happens, 1/2 of me is happy that I'm retired... the other 1/2 isn't...

Tim:

Got a call from USICE Friday: all visits, including official visits, to the prison up there are on hold, because of dangers posed by that guy.
I have a feeling he will go deep into some hidden shelter in the woods and hole up there for awhile. He is a true classic whacko, and extremely dangerous...it's not just LEO's he wants to kill: reportedly, he'd like to commit mass murder as well.......
What can one say? Tragedy for the families and friends affected. Let's hope he's caught before he can do more damage.

Dan,
I've been following this every chance I get... unbelievable. I just hope and pray that no one else gets hurt. Schools there have been closing depending on where the search leads...
My other thought is that he may already be dead and won't be found for a long, long time.

The last one of these vermin was caught dumpster diving by a rookie patrolman. I remember watching the press conference. I told my wife, watch this; the FBI agent that had nothing to do with the arrest is going to take credit for it. He did.

He can't run forever, he will make a mistake sooner or later, they'll catch him.

Rip to the deceased. This is crazy they haven't found him yet in a supposed 5 mi range. How is he avoiding dogs, Thermal imaging on helicopters and 1,000 men looking for him? I hope they catch him alive, tells his story and the family of the deceased makes any and all profits

And another week has gone by. Seemed like they were getting very close to getting him, even had a sighting, but still no capture.
It's just a matter of time. Hopefully this will be over soon.

Yep, search starting the fourth week. They've found his campsites and two pipe bombs there.

Just a matter of time. Seems they found some food stores and more guns and ammunition. They have to catch up to him eventually.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I'm starting to think this wasn't just a random police officer killing.. Now a month into this they find a letter he wrote, in the woods? I know the police only disclose what they think will help the public or catch the perp, but something's are just not adding up here. Either way, I hope that he is taken alive and we get the whole story.

Now they've released more on the letter. It appears it's completely random. This guys got to be apprehended ASAP.....

Media reports refer to this guy as a "survivalist". That now seems like an understatement after a month of eluding one of the largest manhunts in history. However, talented or not, it appears that the circle is tightening around him. There were two reports of sightings in the last week or so. It's just a matter of time before he gets caught or takes his own life.

The only thing random about this was which officer happened to be going through the door. Everything else about this seems to have been planned out. You can't hide in the woods for a month without some planning. It would not surprise me in the least to find this $hitbag killing himself once he gets cornered and his capture is imminent. And, that will happen.
