Personally, green watches have never attracted me. I'm more into black, blue and silver.

A matter of personality. If you want to wear a watch that stands out and calls attention to itself, go green.
I prefer black because, well...I don't want a watch that stands out and calls attention to itself. Is the watch for you, or for others? Which is more important to you? Which would you be more comfortable with in your daily life? Only you can answer. |

I just don't care for green, except for money, trees, and grass, so I pick black.

I have the LVC as well. Love it.
I hear from my AD that they are much harder to get than the black. So you might be less likely to see them in the "wild"! |

Given you have a black dial with the Daytona, get the LV. If you did not have the Daytona, I would recommend the LN.
Make sure you try on the LV under different lighting both inside and outside if you can. Only way to get a true idea as to what it looks like in everyday life (the green dial changes a lot based on light...which is great). It is not as vivid in most setting as it will appear under intense jewelry store lighting. That being said, there is no wrong answer. Good hunting. |

Green!!!!!! The dial is amazing and you never see them out in the wild. Sometimes there is a lot to be said for having something different.

You'll have to try them both on...I own the SubC in black and find myself lusting for the green after trying it on at the local AD a few weeks ago. My wife is not too keen on it so I'll have to sneak it in very very quietly!!

Thank you all for your replies; special thanks to FiftyTwoEighty and WhatTheDuece for the posting pics of the LV with long sleeves and a suit jacket. One of my biggest concerns was how the LV would look against a dark suit and pink shirt when I'm in court or in a meeting but then I always have the choice to switch to the Daytona.
As alluded to in another helpful reply, the green might be construed as a tad ostentatious. I have to confess, that's been on my mind too. However, I was a difficult child and I haven't changed as time has passed; I have always refused to conform and am too old to start now. Sounds like another great reason to go green Another great piece of advice was to wear them both and see which sings. With you all the way, dude! I've tried on the green in another branch of the same AD further up Orchard Road. I don't particularly like the shop though because of the lighting and decor; everything has an artificial bronze hue as a result and subsequently looks awful. Another excellent point raised! To Matt C: green bezel/black dial combo? One word: eew! One man's meat is another man's poison, fair enough, but not for me. Thanks for the suggestion though. When I bought my Daytona, I couldn't make my mind up between the black and white faces (bit of déjà vu going on here ) the salesman let me try them both on side by side and go take a looksy outside. I found the white to be a little too bright in the afternoon sun so went for black. I guess that's exactly what I'll do on Monday and see which one sings. At the moment it seems like green is the one towards which I'm swaying; as has also been said, would be a killer pair Many thanks again for all your input. |
