That toilet is bizarre. I hope to never run in to one of those. YUK and Double YUK

Now, if like me... You are luckier than most, you'll get one of those comfy lazy-thrones for the reading room, the only thing it can't do is... Make a good cup of Java but for the rest, just press a button

It even has a warm seat

Dude: those squat toilets are horrid. At least the one you have pictured is CLEAN. I've been to China, Thailand, and Mynmar, and believe me that one is PRISTINE compared to the one's i've seen. Ycch. Especially memorable one was outside Beijing at the Great Wall...HORRID, but sometimes, sadly, unavoidable. But you don't need to change your clothes, you just need to get a lesson on how to use 'em, but not on TRF! I mean Lisa's already had enough from the group peeing scene.

Great photos of a great country. I have visited Japan (usually Tokyo, Yokohama and Osaka) quite a number of times. Had some wonderful experiences and loved those experiences. My wife and I are planning to go to Japan in early 2011 for a 1-2 week vacation.

Here is a shot (not up to my DSLR par) but taken in April from the Starbucks window looking out at the Shibuya intersection...

Love Tokyo. A truly great city.

Whoa! Just realized what an old thread this was!

Very nice pictures. Been in Japan many times and I think everyone should visit it. It is just so different. Must see country.
Some of the bikes look like vintage but actually companies like Zero Engineering produce these and you can buy it brand new http://www.zero-eng.com/
Midori is my favourite one: http://www.zero-eng.com/custom-T6Midori.php

Wow!

GREAT PICTURES EVERYONE!

Thanks so much...really enjoyed stumbling across this thread. I visited Japan 10 years ago on vacation and was impressed. I share many of the sentiments I saw expressed in this thread as a visitor to the land of the rising sun.

thanks for sharing!
