Is the original account compromised because Mark clicked on a link and gave out his password? If so, it's probably a write-off. Never respond to an email or PM asking for your login details.

From what I can see as a bystander is Mark's original account was compromised via phishing, he got ripped-off, he got a new TRF account, he posted about the scams, the Mods got to boot a jackwagon in one of the scam threads, Steve didn't get an email nor a PM, the original account was retrieved, the new account appeared banned, then the original and new accounts were merged and the posts made from each one were preserved, and the post count was recovered.

Makes my wife's soap operas look tame

Hope the scammers get caught and we can celebrate that!
