Sub Vs Sub and Datejust - First Rolex(s)
Im in the position to purchase my first Rolex or couple of Rolex's and indecision is driving me crazy. Whilst I've been a member on here long enough to know the decision is ultimately mine i want objective opinions especially from owners of the models in question.
There are obviously many iconic Rolex's but to me there are three stand out ones - 114060 Sub-C no date, 116234 Datejust Silver Dial, stick on jubilee/fluted bezel and the 116613LB Twin tone sunburst. Each as iconic as the other (to me). The difficulty comes when i can purchase both the sub no date AND datejust (new) for a little more than i can get the 116613LB (new). My heart tells me that the LB is fantastic looking and it always catches my eye BUT then i think i could have TWO of my favourite models for the same. Two watches that are probably going to be more universal too. My small collection has a gap for all three (or should i say i can justify any) but i only want one or two from one brand at anyone time. Its not so much as heart vs head as i can justify head and heart for both options. i just wonder which combination would be most popular. I intend to wear any of them for whatever i want, whether that's work with a suit, on holiday or with a shirt and jeans at the weekend. i have dress watches and beaters so those angles are covered. Any and all helpful opinions are appreciated
