Good question, I have no idea but to put it context, a friend who used to race them and formula Vs had one which for all I know was modified. This was '70 time frame. This is what his words were back then. I know he drove from the rear seat because of his size. Now I've got a current one which is clearly not rear wheel drive. Our 2011 is my son's car. With proper tuning they could raise their front wheels in the two lowest gears. That said you got two great watches and I'd tend to go for a newer Mini.

I've owned a few (more then ten) Cooper S 1275's and the only time I've managed to get the front wheels of the ground was with a floorjack.

i rolled a 1460 once ,,, does that count ,,, and the battery which was in the passengers footwell leaked acid all over me ,, but , i managed with help from a farmer , to roll it back onto its wheels , but i had to take my jeans and t shirt off , and roll in the grass to get rid of the battery acid ,,, then drove the same car , minus most of its glass , ,,, and my clothes home ,,, what fun.
