Found it! Yay! Sorry. First Rolex. Extremely ecstatic...Was it weird that I slept with it on the first night I had it?

Also I've noticed I "feel" like my age..Like I've accomplished something..embarked on a milestone. I'm 38 and quite often mistaken for being in my mid to late 20s; not just out of college, but still wet behind the ears. At work I'm looked at as if I'm an inexperienced "youngin'", yet I'm an established chemist at a globally renown pharmaceutical company with 13 years experience under my belt. Wearing my newly acquired timepiece I feel like I've earned it and can say "I'm no kid. I've worked damn hard for this!" Is that immature of me? It weird tho b/c I own an Omega Seamaster mid auto (I received as a university graduation gift from my older brothers (who barely made it out of HS); needless to say they were proud of their little bro.) and an Omega Speedmaster 2001 Michael Schumacher that I bought myself as a gift for landing my first position at above pharmaceutical company. The Rolex just gives me that warm feeling, both inside and out, that I've accomplished something...or that I AM accomplished. I'm proud to own it....

Thank you both for the advice . Unfortunately (for me! ), I'd left the office by the time you'd posted your helpful responses.

Ok, just been out to an AD who was able to see it by using the torch/flash on his phone and assured me my watch was genuine. I still couldn't see it I then went to a diamond dealer who allowed me to use one of their magnifiers and, finally, Hallelujah, I could see! What was really bizarre was that the young lad who assisted me was wearing an identical watch to mine.

For anyone else who's having heart failure, the hologram is extremely difficult to see unless your piece is being held at the correct angle with almost military precision with the precise candela of light. Well, that's how it is with my Sub C LV anyway. And no, my eyes aren't that bad, just reading glasses.

Thank you OP for giving me a near fing heart attack!

We have a lot in common! same age, buying our first Rolex at a similar time, looking younger than our age (I was still getting people to believe I was 22 until I grew my beard this year! I'm so not complaining though). Above all else I also bought mine as a statement to myself - It feels like I have a Mercedes Benz S class on my wrist rather than the fine Alfa Romeo 159 I was wearing (Breitling). The Alfa is beautiful and a great watch but the Merc is just class and I get the feeling of success just wearing it.

Enjoy wearing it with proud - I know I do.

Very cool shot of the LEC (laser etched crown). On my first Rolex it was a bear to find; it took looking through a stereo zoom microscope for me to see it. Most of mine are older watches so I don't worry about it. If you can't find it easily don't worry too much; it is probably there but difficult to see.

No kidding Adam, I have tried all sorts of angles and only got a whiff of it once, but my eyes are not as sharp as they used to be too.

Not easy to catch with the eye or a camera. Nice shots.

The laser coronet is a very subtle anti-counterfeit addition by Rolex. I've never seen it with the naked eye, only with a loupe (then again, I'm almost 56, so my eyes aren't what they used to be).

It makes me wonder what other subtle anti-counterfeit things Rolex does with its watches?

Very cool. LECs are shy. Sometimes you have to tease them out.

Very nice! I like the small details on our Rolexes, that really shows the craftmanship that goes into making the watch.

For those of you that still haven't been able to find it, position your cell phone light at the top of your watch, facing away from the six o clock position. I've found this is the best way for it to show up, and plus you won't blind yourself. I hope this helps.
