Heh crew the Wine room is available can we get some accurate numbers, if we are going to do it I will need to put down a holding credit card deposit of 2K which is fine, will have a look over menus they have sent to my other e-mail. Will share when I can send them to my personal mail. Please confirm if on your own or with partner. The room fits 28-30 so based on recent GTG we should be close to putting the SOLD OUT sign out.

Mitch we will send you some pictures of us enjoying ourselves so you can watch them at the wedding!!!

Sorry guys, late to reply, but have been watching!

Craig, thanks for doing the legwork mate!
Is there a minimum number for the room, and or price per head that they are locking you in at for a group booking??
Location looks good, and menu not bad at all.... Just hope we don't price a possible attendees out is all??
Wife and I are in for sure, so locked in for 2 definitely!!

Mitch, after this GTG supper, my time in Sydney is limited to family for last few days before departure, but I'll make sure to pop in and say hi at work and a possible lunch break before the GTG.!!

Looking forward to it!

Rob, does not appear to be a min spend limit will have a look at the paperwork tomorrow on my work PC (share with everyone), room has a max capacity of 30 so we will get there easy I suspect. We had about 20-25 at the last GTG in September.

No problems on my side putting down my card as deposit, unless there is something crazy on the menus, that make it too expensive.

Used to frequent flying fish, but swore off it after my last disappointment there. Can handle their prices, but not their minuscule portion sizes :(

Took my wife there for our anniversary mid year, and for the price we paid for a main the size of an appetiser, with entrees and a bottle of plonk - could have enjoyed a lobster meal at Golden Century

Great venue and view though... And the food is good quality if you can find it on the plate :)

I say lets go back to the steak house that you have been before...... I have no idea where that was, so will hand over to those in the know.......

Sorry guys, dropped the ball on this one. Have been bouncing around the countryside with little time to stop and smell the roses..... Enjoying the visit down under immensely none the less!

Location. As close to town as possible would be best. Darling Harbour area, Rocks, or even near the Opera house with an iconic view is always good. Nicks Seafood was great a few years back. Can't remember the name of that Steak house we visited, but in my mind, great company with an atmosphere is best.

Let's nail down a location and numbers soon. Looking forward to the night out!!

Be safe over the holidays, and a happy new years to all!!

Rob I agree, happy to also organise for everyone. Darling harbour is probably easiest to get to and if you are interested ins something steak wise the options would be:

Hurricanes
I am Angus
Meat and wine Co

All will be reasonable meals. Not michelin stars but at least that way it is easy to go for a drink afterwards. As our guest Rob your choice. I don't think any will have a private room but we can try and get a space away from others.

Rob you take a pick and I will organise the rest including following up with the admin for everyone.

Yes there are nicer restaurants all over Sydney many people want to try but it seems getting consensus will be tough, so lets just take a pick and go with it.

Nicks was good and is big enough that we can have a large table to the side. They will even make a steak for JB

The steak at Nicks, last time we were there, was the WORST I had ever had. Anyway, I have no issues going there again, however, I wont be having a steak.

Most important to me is the company that counts and that to me is what makes a GTG worth while!

Can not wait to catch up with all of you again and meet anyone who hasn't been there before!

Not sure if you'll have booked a place already. Zaffran at Darling harbour is another option if can handle Indian spices, is on the milder side of hot:)

100% Craig, lots of options, but so little time to get a full consensus in time....

Hey John.
The Nicks I was referring to was the one we went to about 5 years ago. I think that was Nicks bar and restaurant?. Last year was Nicks Seafood. There's actually 6 establishment in Darling Harbour owned by the Nicks chain.

Maybe it's time for something other than steak this time my friend?!?

In any case, given the time frame we have, I'll say I'm Angus as the place, between 6:30/7 pm...
Plenty of place to meet for an ale nearby, both before and after...
