Larry-
Go.For.It. If you decide it's not for you, can always flip it for a watch you like for very little lo$$, if any. Happy hunting! |

I'm guessing it's around 100 to 120 grams 18 karat, which means 75 to 90gr of pure gold... CMIIW |

I'm scared to strap one on my wrist incase it pulls my arm out of the socket
I joke, it's only a few grams, you'll soon get used to it after a week or two, I'm sure |

We were secretly given a workout regimen by Rolex six months before purchasing. The Platinum watches demans Special Forces training. Seriously, no problem with the weight.

I went from a steel 116520 to a WG 116509. I hated it. The gold watch kept shifting away from my viewpoint on the wrist. I fiddled with it incessantly all day. Drove me bonkers.
Traded it away. Clearly I am in the minority here, but there are two sides... |

I'M 65 AND JUST BOUGHT A WG DAYTONA. (Sorry for the caps). It has a nice weight too it but is definitely NOT too heavy, nor will it be IMO. And I'm thin.

I have a 116509 & find it a bit heavy.. Tend to wear my Exp II as my everyday watch..
Be mindful as it is a big investment.. For the record I am 6 2" & 220lb .. its just a comfort thing |

Larry, you gained 2 lbs in 10 minutes - stop posting or you'll be over 200 lbs in no time
I wore a 116718 all gold GMT and it was no problem wearing it daily. The extra weight reminds you of the awesome timepiece you have on your wrist. Don't hesitate in the purchase. If you like the look, the weight is not an issue |

Hey Larry, I wish I were in your enviable position. WG Sub is my grail, but lately I've taken quite an interest in YG. I'm just a little older than you (and the same size as Hatchet Harry) so maybe that explains it: a taste acquired with age.
Shop around. I've found Toronto ADs are willing to discount, and are also willing to match a discount offered by a rival. Let us know what you end up doing. |

I find it hard to imagine that a heavy watch wouldn't be constantly migrating towards the outside of the wrist. My watches do and they're half the weight of a Daytona, and fairly tight on the wrist as well.
I think it's more a case of whether it bothers you. Also I wonder whether the size of the wrist makes a difference. Seems reasonable that a wider thicker wrist would resist watch rotation.
