Above a certain price point for cars and watches, call it about $75,000, there isn't much that interests me. Both cars and watches are practical and beautiful tools that excite the senses and the imagination, but I'd be more inclined to spend the money on my home or on travel than I would be on an ultra-premium watch or a sports car.

I personally worked my ass off to get an education to place me in a profession that pays well. Along the way the house and reliable vehicles were a priority. Next came paying off debt accrued. Now, life is in the sweet spot to enjoy nice vacations and items that can be heirlooms.
When I was younger I wanted the 911, testarossa, etc. Now I care less about the cars and really, really, really love my watch!!! |

If I had to, I'd sell my 5.0 to pay the bills. But I would not flip for a watch. No matter what it was. That said, good for you. It's all about what matters to us personally.

I'd rather have a nicer car than a nicer watch. I'd be much happier with a nice German car and a Sub than a less reliable car and a Patek. But then again, the term nice is relative.

So many way to think about this and variables to consider.... But one of my immediate thoughts, I would rather have a Ferrari and my B Chronomat, than a Patek and a Civic.
However, if I lived in NYC my ass would never want a car, so why not buy a Skydweller? So many ways to think of this |

First the car.
A car is a necessity. A nice car adds pure joy to your boring commute, or road trip to the in-laws, or any road trip. As much as I love watches, they are a luxury, only to be bought when all else is set. House, car, kids education, family needs, savings....................watch. |

My daily, Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit 2015 My old car, driven by my new wife, Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 2011 Both black on black. Yeah, I like Jeep's. The third is a 2015 Mustang GT 5.0 Nothing excessive. Nothing crazy. But love the look and feel and drive of the driveway. Edit: I never over reach. They are all paid for. No lease. No loan. I've git titles on them all.

You can't go wrong with any you list. They are all fantastic. You will hear pros and cons on all models. But I've always loved Mustangs. It's personal, but I love what a mustang represents. Power, and trash, all at the same time. If never trade it for a watch. No friggin way.

Watch over car for me... I'll take an 800-1000 dollar every 5 years cost of ownership over the alternative.

Bikes, then watches, then a car for me.
As long as my car is comfortable and reliable I'm satisfied with it. |

For me it's a nice car first. I have always had a sports car for the past 25 years. Watches are nice to have too!

I would say car over watch.... May feel differently in a few decades, but for now, driving puts a grin on my face every single day!

to me its the depreciation and upkeep. I could and likely will buy a Bentley over my current prius, but I know that it's not going to keep any value those thoughts disappear when you hit the throttle.

I figure you can buy a seriously nice car and at the end of 10 years have a worn out car worth very little.
Or, you can buy a nice enough car plus a really nice watch and at the end of ten years, you have a worn out car worth very little and a really nice watch. |

If I was offering financial advice, I would say indulging in the right watch is a safer bet. But then again, I've never been one to spend wisely on cars lol If cars held their value like Rolex and patek I would be IN HEAVEN |

Well this is a watch forum but I must be honest a badass car is a must for me, I can live without a cool watch but don't take my car!! I am an adrenaline junky, and while I love watches it's just not the same high for me.......

My rule is your house better be worth more than your car and your car more than your watch and your watch more than your suit, just my opinion.

A great watch and a VW Golf is good enough for me.
Don't need a luxury car, but do need a nice watch. |

I love a nice watch but a nice comfortable car is very important to me specially since I commute quite a bit. No Ferrari but a nice E-class or a 5 series will do.

Nice watch and beater (but performant) car. When you park that car in the garage, you will still wear the watch into the bedroom.

I drive a pretty average car, '09 Corolla. I don't need a lot in a car - reliability, ability to get me from point A to point B safely. I live in a very congested city, so while I do appreciate sports cars, it makes little sense for me to own one. A lot of cost to be able to have fun so rarely. Initial purchase, gas, insurance, maintenance, etc... All my watch demands is $800 or so every 5-7 years for upkeep. Even my economical Corolla costs me in the neighbourhood of $5k/yr to keep on the road.
That being said, I have a hard time reconciling purchasing a car and then just a few years later, having it worth a tiny fraction of what it originally cost. So I would say watch. I think with depreciation, my watch is probably worth more than my car now. |
