They are great people to deal with! I've had one for over 10 years and they just get better with time - I've got a whole bunch of their stuff, fits my lifestyle well!

There is some color variance with Saddleback products. When you place your order, call their customer service and tell them if you want a darker or lighter bag and they'll likely work with you.

Can't go wrong with Saddleback.

Amen to that.

I've got a thin briefcase that's 3yrs old. Only use it for work. The leather is stronger than the metal bits- I've got a d-ring that has worn down but I don't want to send it in because I love the bag. When it goes, then I suppose I may have to part with it to get it fixed

This is right on. I am an impulsive buyer that buys everything that I want (minus ferrari's and Patek's.). I had admired Saddleback bags for years and never pulled the trigger. My wife got so desperate for a gift for me that she called and said that she was looking for a color between the tobacco and the darker one and they sent this.

I want a smaller bag that has a Bar S logo (or some farm logo) branded into the leather. I will have to give them a call. I bet they can make that happen.

My travel bags are whatever I can get cheap that does the job. I know they will get beaten to rat sh*t by the airlines so I can replace them every year or so with new cheap bags. More money to spend on the next watch.

I was expecting more John Hart but forgot it's local and handmade in Texas. Great bags and accessories for anyone looking.

What types of hard luggage are those? Been considering a hard case piece. Hopefully they're not in that platinum DD range! Love the stuff :)

luckily they aren't as crazy as a Platinum DD - the brand is Rimowa.

Their aluminum line is called Topas. The polycarbonate lines are Salsa and Limbo.

Just think of them as being like PCLs. They are going to get scratched.

Fun stuff - a bit addictive. Even my wife had to have one and she normally doesn't care about this sort of thing.

Heading up to Alaska in a few weeks.. my Filson luggage is definitely coming along. Filson zippers are definitely something to be careful around though! Very unforgiving..

Particularly around your "cojones," cajones! I love Filson products. I 'll post mine later.

Well, looks like just two of us are in on this maker.
A friend turned me on to the product 25 years ago, when it was known as Holland Sport. Somewhere down the line, Holland And Holland of English sporting gun fame "encouraged" Holland Sport to change the name (their family name no less). Seems the gun maker didn't want confusion to arise with the sporting leather goods maker from San Francisco, California USA. Holland and Holland should have been flattered if anyone made a connection...
Anyway, like most things for which I go Nuts, I bought several pieces of leather goods, from travel bags to accessories. Still have all but my briefcase, which I still see everyday with the co-worker who bought it from me.
Of all my Holland Sport (and a few Holland Brothers and Mulholland Brothers) items, this is my all-time favorite work of art: a garment bag. All leather (Latigo, or saddle leather), burgundy with contrasting yellow stitching, and sturdy brass zippers. Handmade in San Francisco when all of their product could claim the same, circa 1990.

Apologies for the non-Rolex. I am without one at the moment, but a Daytona is at the top of the list.

Another Filson fan

Love seeing all the Filson stuff. I've been a fan of their stuff for years and only last week joined the Rolex owners rank.
Here's my Sub 2liner on my Filson rolling piece. The bag is from circa 2000 and has seen a whole bunch of flights and miles. I've seen one single one like it in all these years. It was a new one with the squeaky clean tan cotton. I told the guy as we walked to the gate "nice bag". He looked at mine - worn and dirty - and said "wish it looked like yours". I looked down and agreed.
