Well I am obviously not in the majority, but I had the option to purchase either one and went DJII blue stick with fluted bezel. I have to wear a suit and tie everyday and I just think the DJII looks more appropriate in that situation. Yet the stick dial allows me to dress it down. Again this is why they make more than one model. Go with what brings a smile to your face.

I wouldn't.
I would start saving for DJII.

Yup, same here. I wouldn't trade it. Save up and get a DJ later... that's what I'm planning to do anyway.

It's a nice watch but I wouldn't flick a Sub for it.

I do not own a no date sub, but I would never make that trade. IMO the sub is a superior watch.

I love my SubC but have had, ahem, thoughts about trading it for the aforementioned DJII... would love your thoughts.
Why would you trade the greatest tool watch for a watch worn by the greatest tools???

I kid I kid!

Both great watches, but really, its all about personal preference, we can't tell the OP which one he will like better.

Like many have said here, if at all possible, try to keep the Sub (if you like it) and add the DJ2. But in my honest opinion, having owned every SS version of the ceramic Sub, if I had to pick between the two of them, it'd no question be the DJ2. The DJ2 is the only watch that has made me sell off all other Rolexes (until I added back a ceramic LV yesterday...love my splashes of color!). It was, for a while, the "one and only" for me, and could easily be again if the need arises.

No way. I cannot imagine parting with my SubC no date. However, I really really liked the blue stick DJII with smooth bezel, so I purchased that one later. Now I have a hard time deciding what to wear every day. I have to admit, I enjoy wearing the subC a little more than the DJII---the sensation of the Sub on my wrist is like no other...I've been wearing the DJII for work most of the time. Either way, it always feels great to look down at my wrist!

No, the DJ II isn't anywhere the top of my Rolex wish list.

The only way I would trade the SubC is going the other way, but that's me.
114060 --> 14060M

Either one is forever.

i love the stick version blue sunburst dial DJII! but given a choice, I wouldn't flip a sub for the datejust. Would probably save up for the datejust :)

Eric has great advise and I would value it since he owns both. I would not trade if I was in the same situation. Save for the next one is the best advise.

No. It would be the last watch I would sell. The DJ II is great and I have owned and flipped two of them. The sub is here to stay.

Keep Sub. Save up for DJ2. Or do you have any other watches to sell?
