Go vintage !!!
the difference between an 1803 to 18038 threw me off at first - I can only imagine what a DayDate II would be. |

Rolex too big? That has to be a non-issue....no way.
Now, I prefer my watch to be heavy... My TT Subc has some weight to it. It feels amazing to me! |

I came across the thread below from a Hong Kong Rolex forum. Weight of some of the older sport Rolexes are listed below.

Rolex watches are built for the long haul. Remember, they were, and still are tool watches. The case and band are all about protecting your ability to tell time in difficult situations.

Sounds like you might want to stick to the Pateks...I for one like the heft and feel of my Rolexes. To each his own.

I came from several Breitling Chronomats (44mm) so the Rolex seem smaller and lighter. They are definitely heavier than my PP but quite manageable and enjoyable.

If someone finds Rolexs (esp stainless models) too heavy, Id like to recommend a gym membership and possibly a personal trainer......

Why not consider a DateJust or an Oyster Perpetual?

Have you considered looking at vintage Rolex?
My 5512 is so light on its original hollow stretch bracelet that I put it on a oval jubilee to add some weight. On leather it's barely noticeable. A caution however that vintage Rolex collecting can be addictive....lots more to learn and discover, but also many more pitfalls. There is a certain gratification to know that you can't simply walk into a local AD and pick up an original condition Rolex from the 60's, 70's, or 80's. |

If you were used to the classic models, then yes, the modern models take some time to get used to...but once you do, nothing else feels the same!

Of course it's not a problem of moving my hand with the watch, just that the feel of the watch on the wrist is heavy

No I don't care about the latest model, will see if I can try an earlier model sub no date one day, the only thing is that the clasp won't be as good as the new one...

You could try the new Cellini or the Datejust (original). Or an Air King. Or just find a non-Rolex watch for which you like the weight. I have a few light and elegant Jaegers!

I enjoy large and small, light and heavy. You get used to all of them in short order.

I love JLC but the problem is even if there are dress watches Ilove it's just not for me, I'm a sports watch guy, so apart from Rolex, Audemars Piguet with their Ro and ROO line, and Patek with their "sporty" watches but in no way real sport watches like Rolex, there are not a lot of brands which have cool sport models...

Well before I was also like that, I liked to feel the weight of a watch on my wrist, totally the contrary now, I like the watch to "disappear" after a few minutes

of the 4 you listed, SubC hands down. Anything you wear for a couple of days seems fine like the new normal

My Rolexes are the lightest and most comfortable watches I own. Only the Deepsea sort of bothered me.
