I just had to add an indoor pic of my 16628 that I just love:

The dial nearly looks black. Very clean!

Icon7 16628 - Just the right amount of gold !

Great shots guys , I've never understood why the 16628 doesnt seem to get the traction it deserves. It was released first as a YG watch before its SS variants and so , IMO , is the most natural 40mm YG Rolex sports watch , some of the other YG sports look a little forced.

Clearly I'm very biased

Wear them in good health .

Is there a year where they started adding solid gold center links? Or are they all hollow?

I think that all of the solid 18kt YG watches, even the blue dial version, don't have solid middle links.

Weird, as when they introduced the SS Blue YM, the bracelet was the newer version with solid links and the better clasp....but when they introduced it in YG, they didn't update.

I think we are due for a PM yachtmaster with bracelets at Basel...as they are missing this version in their current line up.

Rolex does things that don't make sense sometimes...like the OF bracelet on the RG yachtmaster doesn't have easy link but the OF on the RG Daytona does.

Again, there's a picture above showing the YG YM centre links are indeed solid. The exception was the SS and TT version, which did have hollow centre links until six digit serial numbers when the clasp also became solid. And the blue dial was around on TT/YG long before the new SS version which came with the updates. Let's get this straight!
We are due a PM Yachty on bracelet at Basel. I'll agree with that.

No worries. Apologies if I got it wrong. But, I think I am correct in stating that the YG Blue dial YM does not have the updated milled out clasp bracelet with the easy link. It has the older tin can clasp. I think that is also shown in his pictures? I guess since it was introduced before the SS, the SS was after the fact and they included the easy link on it but didn't update the YG version?

Apologize if I am incorrect.

The YG one was discontinued completely in 2012 if I remember rightly. So it wasn't in production by the time the blue dial was released in SS. You are correct in that the bracelet is solid but (sadly) never got the updated clasp. It wasn't my intention to come across as rude but I've been having a few back-n-forths about this in a couple of threads as well as PMs and this tribute thread I feel is the place to set the record straight.

Was looking for pictures on the YG blue dial YM and found this thread. Too bad the pictures have been blurred by photo bucket. Maybe someone can post new pictures?

Just bumping this thread. Recently saw a 16628 in person and now I want one. Don't know why this reference isn't more popular? It's a slim/dressier version of the 116618.

Question, can links be added on both ends of the bracelet? I only see screws on one side?
