Agree so not disappointed. It's always fun to watch people change their minds. I also like the down sizing trend.

I expect that this will be something of a disappointment, although probabably no real surprise, for the 'Sports guys' out there. Might refocus some people on existing models?

New movement....new DD...new OP....new RG YM w/ matte black ceramic bezel...new rubber bracelet.
I pretty much like all of it! Revolutionary? No. But, solid evolution? Yes! |

i feel like crying
im a little disappointed.. I only just got my DDII and now they have upgraded it? I wonder what the price of the new day date 40 will be? ?? im a little worried my watch will drop in value.. also im looking for a daily wear rolex and want a Daytona, or a hulk submariner.. I was looking to see an upgraded ceramic bezel Daytona or a new submariner colour?? im a bit disappointed with this all. its quite sad.. im worried about my day date II now because when I got that it was supposed to be a top of the line ultimate watch.. and now its just been crushed with a new improved movement.. I feel like crying....

Awesome!
One of the best years of the last 10. RG Yachtmaster shows they'll finally offer something a little different and modern. New DD brings back the class it deserves, right size and smooth lines again. I always thought the DD II was kind of blocky, oversized and the bracelet wasn't proportional to the watch head.
New guy gets it...

I just don't understand why Rolex would invest in the Yachtmaster, which does not sell very well? Why not do what you did, but do it to a Submariner? That would have been cool. And a 40mm DD? Does the DD2 go away? Why retool for 1mm? The new movement is the highlight IMHO, but as for the rest, meh. The 39mm OP are confusing at best for me...

Never been a fan of the YM but the RG on the rubber band looks pretty damn good to me.

Disappointed? Not at all! Rolex has apparently raised the bar for rubber straps, the DD40 looks gorgeous and has a new movement, and there's a new clean 39mm model...I couldn't ask for more; Rolex never revolutionizes their whole lineup in a single year.

The Day Date Platinum is crazy cool looking with that turquoise weave dial. The Yachmaster is finally looking killer and different than a sub (if not a bit too Hublot Big Bang with the Red gold and rubber strap).
The Patek Pilot looks like a direct copy of the Zenith Type 20!

Well, at least I can continue to buy all that stuff we can't talk about on TRF, because it appears to me that Rolex is moving in a direction that will not interest me in the least.
I have a nice, though small, collection of 'old school" styles and "new school" styles, so Rolex can shuffle off to Trendyville like so many others have without it having any effect on me. Godspeed, Rolex!

I think Rolex and Tudor did an amazing job this year. The gold YM is gorgeous as is the 40mm Day/Date. I also think the Osyter Perpetual is a beautiful and simple classic Rolex and the Blue Pelagos is out of this world cool.

I for one am soooo happy there was no "huge new and improved" this or that from Rolex.
Steady she goes boys, this will be a long and pleasant drama free ride. Just the way I like it. Low risk, low yield but a guaranteed investment over the long haul. |

On the other hand, love the new YM! Been wanting a RG ceramic for some time in a 40mm package. Matte dial and bezel? Say what? |

Rolex is the most successful luxury watch brand in the world. It is great that they are adhering to the philosophy that makes them who and what they are, as it will insure vintage values for a long time to come.
I love the movement changes they posted on their website. Absolutely gorgeous! Proof to me that a high level of finishing may be a form of art that makes a movement interesting and beautiful, but that scientifically and technically innovative design is just as beautiful and more importantly robust for the life of the watch. Rolex continues to push the envelope of innovation when it comes to improving both performance and durability, the approach that has made them the behemoth in the industry that they are today.

Very Very Happy,
I'll save $$$ this year. Saw Nothing new from Rolex that I want and/or need. Unlike the past 2 years of homeruns with the new sport watches- first The new Sub Hulk and last year GMT BLNR, soon as I saw them I felt like "I want them" and I got them. This year nothing speaks to me so my $$$ is safe and so is my marriage!!!! LOL. Happy with my modest collection now!!!!! At least for this year?????
