I own five TT and I am white, but i am far from trash. I could have a gold watch with all of the money that I have invested in my collection. However, I think I would feel uncomfortable wearing all gold all the time.

I have serious want for the 116713 LN. It's a flashy watch, without being as ostentatious as a YG or Everose.

Seriously, most everyone judges other people by their manner of dress, choice of accessories, and by what comes out of the observed person's mouth. It doesn't take long to destroy or confirm a first impression.

As I will make my first Rolex purchase tomorrow, I decided to go for a new SS Daytona.

If I start to travel for work again, I'll get a TT GMT II C.

If you can afford a TT Rolex then you are probably doing rather well for yourself.

But what if a black guy wears a TT? Would it still be "white trash?"

I've been called worse, and still I mange to sleep at night. No, I can't afford a YG DD. I wear a TT TOG, which I am very happy with. Would I buy a DD if I could? Probably not. I like my TOG.

Mark.

Absolutely! It's the reason I bought it! Looking forward to wearing it tomorrow on the $19 golf course wearing flip flops and a tshirt - with a golf bag full of Pabst Blue Ribbon!

My cut-off has historically been £10k, because up to that point I am happy to wear it almost anywhere and do almost anything with it. Once it goes above £10k I think I'd treat it differently. My collection at one point was worth about £30k, which is not a lot for this forum! But it showed I could have had a gold Rolex if I could have got over the psychological threshold I have!

And hey, if people can't afford a gold watch but can get themselves a TT Rolex, they shouldn't be worrying too much about things!! Don't be fooled by what others on here have, there are some very wealthy members on here and it can skew your own judgement of yourself sometimes if you're not careful.
Most sensible post on this thread

I don't have a gold Rolex. Can I afford one? Yes. Would I buy one? No. Gold doesn't suit me, I don't wear it well at all and a gold Rolex would be too heavy for what I'm comfortable with. Apart from that, I have a shaved head, tattoos and a bull terrier. A gold watch would have me looking like a drug dealer.

If I was ever sufficiently demonically possessed to want to spend that amount on a watch I would buy either a WG Sub or the BLRO.

I could probably afford an all PM but don't want to spend that much and quite simply prefer TT. About the only PM model I might consider is the newly released 40mm DD in YG. In the end it's all about what you like and not necessarily about what you can afford.
