What a great watch...my only knock on the Daytona is the limit of two dials for the SS model and holding out the really cool dials for the PM models.

Nothing but love from me as well.
I just got a drool worthy grail type watch. Also a chrono. And a higher price point for SS. But tell you what; it changes nothing about my love for the Daytona. I think the hype is very well deserved. It's a watch that inspires excessive passion for some.

In many cases, people who say the Daytona is overhyped and overpriced will not blink to pay 15k on a sub with one word of red text on the dial (and no glidelock! Hehe). To each their own, the daytona has a cult following for a reason.

I don't think the hype is the watch's fault. Rolex has had a very exclusivity driven strategy with releasing this and thus as so many have not seen the watch for real but only on large internet pics then it is inevitable that this watch will suffer from over-expectation and hype.

Way overhyped, costs only around 12K, worn by best race drivers, politicians, actors, boxers, movies stars, many respectable members of our forum. It's freaking amazing and I'm lucky to own it. |

I think the Daytona is the pinnacle of the stainless steel Rolex world.
