happened to me on both a rolex and omega. Maybe i'm just unlucky. Glad you got it fixed. I'm never a fan of opening up a watch unnecessarily especially when brand new - but i've done it twice and nothing bad happened :)

But it does make you wonder about quality control at Rolex as I keep reading more and more about these types of issues. Heck, there's two other instances on this thread alone. What I don't understand even more are those apologists who continue to give Rolex a pass by saying, "nothing's perfect", or "stuff happens". At the price Rolex is asking for the privilege of being an owner of one of their watches it should be perfect. I've said it many other times on many other threads, "It's a Rolex, not a Timex".

Sorry for the rant Matt and I'm glad that they took care of the issue for you. My beef is that it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Very very true! I'm so impressed with the watch that I still love it but this issue does make you wonder. Doesn't help that this was my first new purchase, the irony being that I assumed it would be perfect!
