i'm sitting here zoning out and killing time until a local menswear store opens so i can go buy a suit to wear to my fathers funeral this weekend (fathers day) . I lost him yesterday morning at only 60 years old to complications after a bowl obstruction surgery ! he was recovering well until a completely unexpected shift in his condition landed him in the ICU and aspirating and eventually in cardiac arrest ! it is with a very heavy heart and a battered soul that i am typing this !

PLEASE , ALL OF YOU THAT STILL HAVE YOUR FATHER IN YOUR LIFE , HUG HIM AND TELL HIM YOU LOVE HIM AND ENJOY HIM ALL YOU CAN WHILE HE IS HERE !

I just love stories like this. Your Dad has every reason to be proud of you and it's a wonderful gesture on your part to present him with a Rolex. Best of luck to both of you.

The quality of generosity is not strained,
It is twice blest,
It blesseth him that gives and him that takes.

And in this case twice over, a lovely story, well done.

Great story, glad you were able to turn nothing into success. And what a gift for your father, congrats to him!

Wow. I applaud you. I know what it's like to be in a bad place (this is why I took a hiatus form here for a few years) and how great it feels when someone shows you a bit of kindness. Good for you. Your father is a good man and is now being rewarded
