As I said on VRF...it's just a vacuum....you can't remove something that large without a huge space being created....I never met him except in print and I just feel this huge void...very sad news.

Awful news to wake up to this morning. He was a good man - knowledgeable and always willing to help. And by association, largely shaped the vintage watch community.
He helped me authenticate a Comex recently and he seemingly set aside his entire day to go through the motions of checking against his files - methodically. I was impressed with both his passion, his knowledge, and his extremely kind demeanor and willingness to help... And ultimately how quickly he became comfortable and lighthearted with those he dealt with. He will be sorely missed. RIP Marcello and thanks for your guidance and friendship... |
