If you think the IWC will be a novelty then why get rid of the Rolex.

I'd be concerned about that rubber coating and how it's going to age. I looked at the bronze darwin and want too happy with the rubber on that model.

You are on a rolex forum.
IWC is not my cup of tea. Love the DSSD.

I'm not a huge fan of the deepsea however I would definitely keep it over that IWC. I think the novelty would definitely wear off over time whereas the Rolex is always a Rolex

Not in a straight trade, no. IWC watches don't hold their value like Rolex. A new Galapagos is $11k (or $8k grey market), wear it once and you might be lucky to get 6k for it.
I was very tempted by the IWC Portuguese 7 day. $13.5k new, now DavidSW has one for $7.5k. I'm glad I didn't take that hit. If it sings to you then make a plan to get one, but in a straight trade the guy getting the Rolex will come out better off. |

I've tried that Galapagos on my wrist. Nice watch. And one of their in-house movements, I believe.
But wouldn't replace a Deepsea w/ it. |

Not a fan of IWC's new Aquatimer models. Keep the Rolex. I wonder how the rubber coating will hold up over time.

Very few IWCs interest me and that's not one of them. I wouldn't. Hold on and the urge will pass 👍

Do it, and let us know how you still feel about it in a few years time.
Personally, I think it would be a fools errand to make that swap under any circumstances. |
