Forget about the watch you are trading for, it does not matter in IMO.
It's your first Rolex and it "should" have a lot of meaning to you. And as others have said it's a 57 and not always easy to find. Good move on keeping it and passing it down.

Many of us here have regretted trading/selling certain watches in our collection so don't make the same mistakes we did. Think it through and ask yourself, how would feel if you sold/traded that particular watch. Would you be OK with the decision....If so go for it.

I did personally like the look of the TAG, but I feel like the vintage Rolex makes me look much more mature. Going to get it serviced soon and make it brand new again :)! I will keep my first Rolex and maybe pass it down to my children.
Happy to hear

Why would you do it? Do you like the Tag a lot? I would not.

You came to a Rolex forum to ask this question? Of course you'll be told to keep the Rolex! My opinion differs. That is to say, both watches would have a resale value much the same, with the Tag actually a hundred or so ahead. Either way you go, youre not losing anything. So, keep or trade, it should be based on which one you prefer visually.

Your "friend" is pretty smart, but I would question his authenticity as a friend.

Keep the Rolex and start a little Rolex collection! I recently sold my Tag Aquaracer and have to say I don't miss it as I put the $ towards a Rolex. Next possible addition for you could be a 5 digit serial Sub.

I wouldn't do it. I don't think the TAG is worth that much, and it isn't getting more valuable.

The bling Tag is just lipstick on a pig IMO. Keep the Air King for sure. Cheers

He's willing to trade a Tag blinged out with diamonds for an old plain-jane Airking. That probably sounds like an odd offer. That's cause your friend knows even if his Tag is blingy, your vintage Rolex still commands more respect. Keep the AK!

Good decision keeping the AK - get the movement serviced and keep it in your family for many years!
