Perfect size imo, was thinking about getting a new explorer but dont like the 39mm sizing.
36mm is just perfect. Shows a little larger on picture (same with the datejust) but that means it is perfect IRL :)

I thought the 39mm looked better, but not for $2500 more money.

Standing alone it's size and face make just perfect IMHO

I figured the 14270 would be a flipper, but I just love it!

I like a 36-40mm watch.

I found this beastly 42mm $100 Croton watch metal detecting in the surf, and whenever I wore it I hated the weight and the attention it drew. My employees noticed, customers noticed each time and would ask me about the junker..

FWIW... 7" wrist

Nobody has asked me about the Explorer yet... under the radar classy cool...LOL

It looks perfect! My wrist is 7.5" and my 39mm Explorer looks just a shade too large, in my opinion. It's all dial... although I totally love it! I do wish I had a 36mm one too though.

Looks perfect on you imho. The trend for larger watches has reset our eyes I believe, I've always worn big watches & at first I felt my SubC was small on 7.5 wrist, now it looks perfect. I love my 34 AK but I think it looks silly on me, unfortunately. My wife likes it though 😉

I personally think it's too small for your wrist, not by a awful lot, but enough to make it blatant. All down to personal taste at the end of the day.. I'd rather wear a sport watch closer to the limits of my wrist. 40 mil is my theoretical minimum depending on the shape of the lugs and case. I prefer 44.

Based on the lugs, it's perfect and the panerai might be too big.

To my eye the Explorer looks like a better fit than the 112.

Looks great on you.
After collecting watches for as long as I have, I now realize the diameter of a round watch is merely a starting point for an indication of how it will look on the wrist. Other factors just as important as the diameter are the bezel-to-dial ratio, and the length/width/shape of the lugs.
I guess I could have said "proportions" and been done with it. Fortunately for us, the Rolex design has great proportions to start with.
