There's a brand new unworn 2015 model on Chrono24 from a 'Trusted Chrono Seller' in Zurich for £4,945 plus shipping (usually about £50 in the EU and no tax implications). That could save you a considerable amount.

The suggested "trusted sellers" might seem like a good idea, as long as the TS is in the UK or even Europe maybe. I have heard horror stories of the UK customs charges, etc. on watches shipped from the US. I think you lose in the end, compared to buying locally.
I am in the same situation. Watches to Japan have no excise tax per se, but are charged 8% consumption (like VAT) tax, plus some 5% garbage fees. That's 13%, and on top of that the exchange rate is horrible, so I buy locally. My point is to search closer to home, and see what you can do, and avoid the unnecessary customs/taxes/currency hassles. Good luck on getting a good price on either of the great choices. |

EU, although we pay up to 27% sales tax, have the benefit of being able to import goods between member countries tax free
So price in Germany for example will have no further costs when imported to UK |

In my opinion stick with the AD, a couple of hundred quid difference will pay off in the long term, (bracelet adjustments etc etc) then when they have pre owned watches that come in as a good deal......plus good deals on other jewellery......just my thoughts
After 30 years in the waiting.......GMT IIc |
