Mine puts up with my passion, but while shopping this summer I persuaded her to look at some ladies models, she went right by the DJ's which surprised me, tried on an OP pink dial and said that she loved everything about it, so there is hope. Also her Dad used to repair watches so he understands mechanical watches quite well. She told me one time that mechanical watches have a soul.

I bought my wife a Rolex the same year just because I got sick and tired of hearing "how much did you spend on that watch?" all the time. It solved that problem. Now posting on TRF all the time my wife said something to me that made me laugh one day. She said "James bond wore a Rolex but do think he wasted his whole life posting on TRF about owning one." So I guess she does not share my same enthusiasm about the brand.

My wife didn't know a thing about watches. After I bought my 1st Rolex she started to get somewhat interested. After I bought my 2nd she had to have one of her own so I bought her a DJ & then she started to go on the Rolex website looking at at different models. After owning the DJ for awhile she commented that the dial was too small & she wanted a larger watch. I traded her DJ for a new Air King which she loves. When I bought my 3rd she found the new 2015 OP & said I want it & I had no choice. She had to level the playing field somewhat LOL....

Kind off..my wife wears a SubC and white Daytona (both were intentionally bought for her). She keeps joking that she really like my Hulk. Hope there isn't a thread in the future that states "My wife took my Hulk"!

My wife just knows she wanted a Rolex, and now she wants one in Rose Gold. Unfortunately she does not think my sickness is a good thing, and I should just stick with one watch instead of flipping over and over!

She never did until I bought her a Rolex. Now she is genuinely interested and likes looking in shops etc.

But, She thinks I crazy and "cannot support you in the Patek range"

Had no interest at all when I met her, now recognises watch brands I like... And is apparently keen to buy me a new Tudor to add to my collection for my birthday. Think she might be a keeper

My wife does not share my passion and thinks that watches are strictly a fashion accessory that happen to tell time.

My wife doesn't care anything for watches. But I get to buy them for me, and she spends her $ on her desires.

She says she doesn't. Then every few years she says she'd like something different. Then I propose selling one of the old ones and my head gets nearly severed! I don't know. What do you call that?

My wife was always a passing fan of watches, owning a little Cartier and a Baume and Mercier while I had never worn a watch with any regularity. At one point tinkered with the idea of buying a used Rolex but didn't want to spend more than 2k for pieces that cost at least twice that. Whatever interest she had was easily eclipsed by her deluded sense of cost. Moreover, she didn't care for the bigger watches women have become fond of wearing. When I bought her a Hulk last summer, she became an immediate convert. She loves them although does not partake in the pursuit and capture. I guess she leaves that part up to me. She now has two.

My wife got me into watches for my 40th birthday, she found TRF and had her Rex before me. We have since sold her ladies DJ and she now wears my Daytona but wants to upgrade it from TT to full YG. I also share her interests in handbags and shoes including the afore mentioned red bottom ones. We don't have kids and we work hard so it helps to have some interest in each others hobbies given she has banned us from doing more renovation projects which used to keep me amused.
