Steve, the member above you could certainly do that from his own personal collection, but I fail to see the point in signaling out any specific model.. We all like different things, and thank god for that, otherwise this world would be one boring sphere we live in!!!

How about we agree there are those we would purchase for own taste, and there is those we would not?!

Ok, I'll say it. I don't care for the Daytona. Don't hate it though. But the YM2...that one I hate.

"Call" out what your heart desires.. Maybe read my post #30 first?!
IMO, it's just wasted negativity.

I hear what you are saying but it is no different than the vintage vs modern...ceramic vs aluminium bezel....tudor vs rolex....datejust 36 or datejust ii 41...or others posting their pics of what they love....no one is trying to bash others just sharing their opinions not personal at all

Difference is (to me), the wording. Awful, or perhaps ugliest (the usual word used for these types of threads). Is it indicative, bias, or ignorance?

Ok I see your point there...I didn't take it that way at all...perhaps if people are sensitive to the wording I would suggest closing the thread and any others like it...takes more than someone else's opinion to alter mine usually, but see your point

All good ncstate. Just looking to highlight what some think is 'awful', others may feel strongly to differ....
TRF is happy to hear all about opinions, let's just be a little more subjective....

Awful is a strong word, but there are a few things that I would change about almost every single rolex.

The text on the dial. It's just bad design. Yes, it doesn't take anything away from the functionality of the watch, but design matters.

I don't need to have "superlative chronometer officially certified" on the dial. It's just stupidity that doesn't actually mean anything.

I'm also a bit more critical of these things than the average person.

Also the milgaus, really don't like that model.

I wish there was more hate for the Platona, so Tom and others would fall out of love and sell it to me cheap......

It's amazing that when I owned that watch it garnered more admiration from strangers than any other Rolex I've owned. FWIW.

Here is an example of a truly awful design. Nothing Rolex makes approaches this hideous thing:

Sorry I know that is bad but worse than this?
.....and even at that it's amazing what a bit of modding can do:

Back on topic I agree that the YMII is one that does not appeal to me at all.

In my opinion every Rolex from stock is a thing of beauty even the leopard on a girl can come to life.

Things start to go wrong when other people start to interfere with the design...so quite a few custom built Rolexes can win the golden raspberry award.

The average Sjeikh is a walking example of how to change a Rolex in a tasteless bling bling

I do think there are pieces out there that are awful, but that is what makes this whole thing fun.

Hate is a strong word but there are many models that I just don't prefer and would never have in my collection. For my collection, I am pretty "plain Jane". The only thing that I'm petty about, is that they need to be the best examples I can find.

That. I know some forum members sport this watch, but I can't stop laughing at it when it shows up.

Gregg, I wasn't saying that model isn't real, I was saying that the picture that keeps getting posted is of a replica model of the leopard Daytona.

It's clear when you look at the "30" on the dial.
