I think the royal oak two tone is sweet

I think people have a problem with two tone because its trying to
Be two things at once kind of like a house boat...a house boat offers two great things at once but fails in the larger picture

I'm with you. Not a fan of SS. They are fantastic and reliable but i just find it a little dull on my wrist.

The great thing about Rolex is the fact that they truly have something for everyone's taste. If something doesn't fit your taste, pick something else.
I like the GMT TT myself and to put it simple, the day someone on the forum decides to purchase me a Rolex, then and only then will I truly care what someone likes or don't like when it comes to me getting a watch.

I have not had much interest in Daytonas, until I saw yours Davetay. That watch is magnificent! The blue dial and gold just make it pop!
I'm still keen on a GMT TT, either black or green, but your Daytona.....that's got me thinking!

If you think that a TT watch is a bargain and you like the look, then go for it. Personally I think TT Daytonas offer the best value - there are so many dial choices and the price differential versus the SS version is not prohibitively large.

Thanks! Try both on the wrist. I did that and bought the Daytona home. And also i'm still dreaming for a Rootbeer GMT TT with ceramic bezel to be out! In due time i hope!

Here is a good example of what I am talking about. Looks like a decent daily wear watch and would imagine in SS it would be gone.
That model is crying for a padded brown leather strap.

Buy it, ditch the blingy bracelet, and give that thing some class.

Just sayin'. ;)

I enjoy TT models and this was my favorite. I am still trying to remember why I let it go.

I think yellow gold on the whole is not the trend in metal right now. Take a look around, ladies and gents are departing from yellow gold wedding rings in favour of white gold, platinum, etc. Hence also why Rolex is broadening their white precious metal options. Yellow gold will never go away but ebbs and flows in popularity. I for one think the two-tone bluesy is still one of the most beautiful watches in the Rolex line up. It is one I have passed on and now am considering procuring another. If flipping is in your future I would avoid a two-tone if keeping then they can be great value.

I bought mine just a few months ago, and as stated, the prices are high and there's not a lot to choose from. My local AD had one, but natch they're not going to discount it much and I have to pay sales tax on top of that, so I bought it from a forum seller.

So I guess it just depends on what it is you're looking for. As mentioned, supply and demand.

Plenty of love here

I think your OP is correct, for many of the "hot" watches, secondary market prices do indeed seem a bit lower for TT at this moment. As others have already noted, I think this is a trend/fashion thing. What goes around comes around and the price trend you've identified could swap tomorrow.

Buy what speaks to you and don't worry what everybody else thinks, the vast majority of them are morons anyway! TT Rootbeer pics coming soon!

I like them, the same way I like two tone DJs. I am especially fond of the GMT I, on a Jubilee, in black/gold. Very nice.

BUT...

I think for many people, especially those who can only afford one (or who have to clear their purchase through "Appropriations"), a two-tone Professional line is a bit limiting in practicality and a bit too "Miami Vice" for many occasions.

Two-Tones look awesome to me in photos but when I put them on my wrist, they just don't look right. I think the GMTiiC in TT is just stunning. But not sure if I'd ever build up the courage to buy one and wear it.

I love TT DJs.
TT sport models were hot like 20 years ago, not among my favorites today.

Stainless for me when it comes to Rolex.

I certainly don't dislike TT. It's just not for me.
