Got to love when people feel a need to start a thread on a negative topic on a forum rather than showing a bit of class and tact and keeping it to themselves. Not a problem to dislike and have an opinion and plenty of opportunity to express but start a thread...Bad taste and I am not sorry.

I can and have owned any watch my little heart desires. I love my Rolex, Panerai, Omegas, Lange and yes, my Tudors. I think alot of people have a hard time when the dial doesn't say Rolex on it. I have had 20 or so Subs and I love my Black Bay Black better. Guess I'm not as sophisticated as some Rolex only people.

You wanted to antagonize and poke... So mission accomplished.

No one is hating. Hate would imply that people remarking against your comment are doing so with passionate dislike for what you said, etc. No one cares that much. I believe many, including myself, are put off by your approach. It is important that you understand this difference. If you want to spark a healthy debate regarding Tudor that's fine (and even welcomed). The trick is how you pose the question, e.g., how you use words to engage others. Remember, jdw007, many people love Tudor watches. And just like anything else, sometimes your words might drive them away, or, perhaps even warrant harsh responses, hence my remark that "Tudor does not like you either." Joking aside, do not ever, ever feel like you cannot speak your mind or cannot say what you want freely, insofar as you stay with the bounds of TRF's rules. Speak your mind friend. Just be prepared for a variety of responses, as we all come from different positions. |

I like dissenting opinions - this and other online forums can act more as a sounding board than a discussion forum sometimes. Ken is right though- post your comments where it's relevant - there's no need to start a negative thread. If someone says "I don't like the Daytona, it's too shiny!" after I post a picture of my watch, that's ok. Starting a thread to bash something doesn't really have a place here.
I've previously owned a Tudor watch, and I didn't get rid of it because of the name on the dial. Would I buy another? I have no reason to do so - I already have a watch that I like more than anything Tudor offers. I don't get the idea of wearing a Black Bay when you already have a Submariner, but some people just love dive watches, regardless of price. It's why I love watches so much - there's SO much to choose from, and always something new to see. Don't fall into the idea that because someone else LOVES their purchase, that it'll be right for you, too. /r/watches is fully enamored with the Speedmaster - it's the greatest watch ever! That can lead to some let-down when you finally handle one if it's not your style. I never liked the Daytona when I first got into watches - it's shiny, expensive, no date, and chronos don't have a sweeping center seconds hand. Now, it's my favorite watch, and my only. (I don't leave the chrono running, but some like to watch it go!) |

I like the Tudor brand and I think they make some very nice watches, but none that I would buy.
Saying that Tudor is a Rolex sub brand may be accurate, as would saying that Audi is a sub brand of Porsche and VW is a sub brand of Audi, even though VW is the brand that started them all. I would buy a VW or Porsche, but never an Audi. That's how branding works. We all get to choose brands we like, and others that we dislike. For instance, I will never ever buy a Nike product. I happen to like Ball Watches quite a bit because they are fun and the Lume rocks. I have a Ball for BMW GMT which is the easiest watch to read the time no matter the time, the place, or the lighting. My Datejust II purchased in May is often very difficult to read. I am hoping my next rolex, the Explorer II is much better in low light. Brands are a strange thing indeed. |

Nothing wrong with a considered opinion one way or the other. Pity the OP didn't provide one.

Sounds like a victim of heavy marketing.......
Agree that sometimes better to keep the little voice inside your head just that.

Oh you can say it, but I think the bigger question is why? And by the way, I love your D-blue. Great watch. |

So I wasted my time reading the thread hoping the OP had his reasons why Tudors are so vile to him. I don't see a response other than the purpose of antagonizing fans of the brand.
Anyways other than calling the OP the T word, how about I express how much I love my Pelagos blue. Awesome tool watch and it works great at the beach or at the pool! Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk |

You missed the entire point. There are plenty of watches I don't like but to start a thread on a negative topic is a different story. It is fine to have an opinion but it is all how and when one expresses it. Again my first post was spot on.

North flag is the only one that really is interesting for me, not a fan of the snowflake hands, and the other models don't do it for me.
But more importantly, they're too big for me- too many models >40mm. For example- I would never get the ranger. BUT... make it in 36, 39mm? Now you've got my attention. |

I hate people who make a statement without stating any reason when they know everyone is going to ask them why. I vote ban.

From what I have seen, banning is for true transgressions. Two mods have already posted to this thread, so it would have happened already. Personally, I don't think it came anywhere near that level at all. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and preferences; we all have them on TRF.
I think TRF is much more enjoyable without such topics, however. Should I start a thread about every model I don't care for? This would become a tedious place if everyone did so. |
