Hadn't heard the story that he used his personal watch in either film. Source on that?

(Not meaning any offense; it's just that, as I point out most routinely to Bo w/ his links here, there's just too much unsourced copycatting that goes on via the Internet that, upon the most basic examination, turns out to be, um, wrong. Thanks!)

Not a movie but I spotted a Pepsi GMT on Hell's Kitchen (Cooking reality show with Gordon Ramsey) last night. One of his Chef's was wearing it, got to see a nice shot of it in High Definition, no mistaking what it was.

Die Hard
I have been searching the various movie threads, but I can't find any mention of Holly's Rolex in Die Hard. Is this something nice people don't talk about because the bracelet broke and Hans fell from the high-rise office building? Maybe I'm not nice or maybe I'm not good at searching. Or both.

Yeah, I saw that as well, but aren't those sub-dials suppose to be second, minute and hour markers? What am I missing? I've always wished the Daytona came with at least a date indicator, the day would be even better. But alas, I was under the impression this watch has never been made. A little help for all of us non-Daytona experts...anyone???

I did a google search for "Rolex Kill Bill" and came up with the following quote from a moviemistake site.
"In the scene when Uma is doing the pregnancy test, she uses a Rolex watch, but the watch has a ticking second hand, whereas real Rolex watches have a swiping movement. [Fake Rolexes are often notable by a ticking second hand rather than a swiping movement. Maybe Uma wears a fake Rolex because she doesn't think it's worth getting a real one given all the punishment it would take." Now personally, I have never seen the chrono part of the Daytona functioning. I would assume it acts like all other second hands....yes/no

Didn't Brad Pitt wear a Platinum Day date in '12'? I thought it had an ice blue diamond dial. Maybe Not -Ronbo

Rolexes were used in a lot of the James Bond movies. Here is an excellent, well written article about the various Submarners that appear with Sean Connery, Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton.

Hi all,
As this is my first time here (just found the Forum while trolling the net), I don't want to break or bend any rules. James Heaton at Hodinkee wrote a neat little piece on the Bond Sub a few days ago, on the 50th anniversary of Dr. No (great film!!). Link: http://www.hodinkee.com/the-james-bo...turns-50-today PJ |

Watched thunderball last night featuring james bonds vintage sub 5510 as well as his breitling toptime, he also wore another watch in the bathroom in his hotel room as he sat on the counter and moved his arm to see the chicks ring, but I couldn't identify it?

It's fake, I believe... I mean know. Look at the bezel, the wheels with the day and date, etc.... Lame, you would think Rolex would give them one for free for product placement, rather than the, resort to fakes...
