A bit OT, but do you find the 5980R rather top-heavy?

Good question BEN. Initially I did until the AD did some fine tuning to the fit and it's now perfect. Don't feel the weight now to be honest. I guess it's all about the fit. They adjusted the clasp slightly to fit it more snug to my wrist as I was in between holes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Go the Platona.
The Platona looks exceptional on you. Plus, I dislike RG with a passion. And the RG colour is very lifeless on your complexion. |

I would actually go Platona as you already have a 5980/r and don't want to part with it. Out of them all The 5711/1r would be my favorite but that doesn't make sense to me alongside your 5980.

Great comparison on 3? I would choose 5711/1R. It feels so nice and smooth look!

I tried the 5711 in rose a few weeks ago. It was a beautiful watch, in my opinion. But it may be duplicative with the 5980R in a small collection, with both having brown dials.

Another vote for the Platona here..Dr Tom's pics always get me in! Unique colours to that model make it all the more special. what a Rolex it is!

I would jump on the 15202OR and never look back. It is a different class of watch IMO, as close to perfection as I've come across.

Based on wrist shots alone, I vote 5711r, it's not often you can find a watch that goes well with your skin tone.

I would go with Mike, there are no losers in this selection, the Platona is certainly the most understated. If it is going to be more like a daily wearer then the Platona would be my vote, if not the others are both awesome.

Hold out and hunt for a 5711P, I wouldn't be content without the blue dial.

This is almost an impossible decision. I like both the new AP / PP and would sell the 5980 but that option seems out. So, AP given your three watches.
What I may do in this situation is: Brown 5711 and platona (used) and sell your current two. |

You don't need to compromise with the platona if you already have a top-notch Chrono movement in the 5980.
I'd for sure go 15202 - it's closer to the original Jumbo than the 5711. |

Advice on AP 15202OR, 5711/1R or Platona.
15202 seems like the clear choice based on the replies. Will also look into a second hand Platona, very good advice. Thanks chaps. Been helpful.

First and foremost, they are ALL gorgeous pieces and I really don't think you can go wrong with any of them! I have tried all of them on, and I would have a VERY difficult time choosing one over the other. That being said, here's my personal opinion. I base it on the fact that I typically have a "hierarchy" of watches that I purchase...meaning, I buy on priority based on a certain order of preference when it comes to buying watches for my collection. I try to get the must-haves and then I go to the additions based on the direction I want to take my collection. Its the only way that I can keep any sanity when it comes to buying fine timepieces, since there are SO MANY that I love out there! So here's what I would do...if you have no AP's in your collection, the 15202 would be the way to go, especially since you already have a PP Nautilus 5980. If you have no RG pieces (full RG with case and bracelet), I would get the PP in RG and eventually get the Ap 15202 in SS. The PP 5711R is very unique, that brown dial with the RG is STUNNING, and not too many people will have it out in the wild. However if you have no Platinum pieces in your collection, the platinum Daytona would be a no-brainer for me. To me, however, the platinum Daytona is my grail watch... again this is my personal opinion.
Good luck and please post pics when you make your acquisition!!! Merry Christmas!!!

I'd go for the daytona. I too think the 15202 looks best in it's original SS

I tried the 15202or on recently and did feel the bracelet was immaculate and superb but seemed delicate, more so than my Nautilus. I feel very cautious with both bezels tho.
