Yes but the AP ceramic is hard enough to not break you just need to be a little careful with it and nothing will happen, it's not a beater if you need a beater then you take a sub or in worse case a SS diver, I've never heard anyone on this forum saying they chipped their CE AP, it's a sports watch but just not made for sports in which there are risks of shocks, it suits me just fine

Don't worry, I'll get my Patek back when I can as I'm sure you'll get the AP you want as well, where there's a will there's a way

I was talking about ceramic cases in general, not AP specifically.
I would have said titanium is a dead cert, what with the QE II Cup chrono limited edition they did – but if they did go down that route, along with a ceramic bezel, they’d be playing right into the hands of the fake market, as it appears that diver version already exists.
Of course, that idea may’ve stemmed from the Ruben Barrichello II ROOC.

So for me, I’d say AP really need to step up their game on the materials front.

They already made one of my favorite combos possible, this one, but good luck finding one as i think they're really hard to come by, not impossible though but hard.

Probably my favorite diver with the CE...

I tried it on once. Its quite heavy. The RG bezel add a lot of weight despite the Ti case. Personally I find gold parts strange on a diving watch.

Ben, the case is made of tantalum that is why the QE2 diver is so heavy, slightly more than RG RC ROO.
I passed on one as grey price was very high. Great looking piece, though I'm happy with my ceramic Diver

You are correct! My mistake. It's tantalum.

Yes Ben and tantalum is heavier than gold, it's almost the same weight density as platinum, so yes very heavy piece, but the grey bluish color of tantalum is awesome, I don't have anything against gold on diving watches, I mean all the real diver brands, Rolex, Blancpain and Panerai, some might not agree but for me those are the 3 brands with diving history, make gold models, so am not shocked in any way by that, I love the mix tantalum RG, the only turn off might be the big weight if it's really too much, but I love the looks of it

I hope you are wrong for my bank account's sake. Also I think it would cannibalize the 44RG which they don't want.

Off topic, but I've read some rumors about the possibility of AP being acquired? Chanel was mentioned.

You know, it's just the internet ... but I really hope none of this is true.

No you got it all wrong, it's not Chanel but Mickael Kors, and they already signed they're announcing it next week

Well Chanel specialise in ceramic watches so if the 42mms get that treatment many will be happy.

Well I'd have a heart attack if Chanel or Kors was to buy AP, we're talking horology on one side fashion watches on the other, at the same time many swiss brands were saved thanks to Swatch creator, without him the industry might look very different right now, so anything is always possible

Neil my friend, Chanel and AP ceramic are not at all the same material if you ask me, a friend's wife loves Chanel jewelry and has a few rings and others she even wanted a watch, probably got it since she gave birth not long ago, I'm sorry if there are fans here but for me it's CRAP, but very expensive crap for what it is…

Since that article is from April of 2013 I assume we would have heard more rumors by now if it was even remotely true.

Not to take this off track, but pretty sure Chanel watches have AP movements in them...At least they did at some point.

Correct the J12 launched in 2008 had a version of the AP 3120.
