Awesome pics folks, keep these coming.

Choosing between the white and black dial is difficult - they both look great.

To owners of this watch, would you say that this Rolex is "stealthy" and tends to not draw unwanted attention to itself?

If so, that's a big plus for me.

One aspect that I really like is the incredible functionality of the quick jump 12 hour hand when traversing time zones. I would probably keep the 24 hour hand on GMT time (as I travel frequently outside the US for business). The capability of not impacting the minutes, seconds or 24 hour hand when jumping the 12 hour hand seems like a dream come true. The watch keeps running too!

The only other watch I am aware of with this capability is the GMT Master II and the Omega Seamaster GMT....

Even cheapo quartz GMTs I've seen can't do this and force one to reset the hours, minutes and 24 hour once the 12 hour hand is moved.

So the Explorer II is a rare breed. Of course, the GMT Master II has the same movement, plus the added capability of tracking a third time zone via the rotating bezel - plus a great heritage dating to the 50s and the Pan Am pilot connection. But the GMT Master II seems much more conspicuous due to the coin bezel.

The Explorer II doesn't seem to "scream" Rolex like the GMT Master II, which might be a good thing if you travel frequently and don't want to draw attention to your watch.

Thoughts on this? For folks who have the Explorer II, as well as other Rolex models, does the Explorer II tend to be stealthier than say a SS Sub, SD or SS GMT Master II etc?

Which dial has better readability in all conditions?

Mine white face has never been noticed (at least to my knowledge) or asked about. I love it for that reason. My red/Black GMT II is what gets noticed the most.

Cool. Has anyone experienced someone asking about the black dial version of the Expy II? Which dial color is "lower profile?"

I have always wanted the Exp II with a white face, the black
just does not grab me the same as the white in this particular
Rolex.

Thats just me though.

I think most people think of a black face when thinking of a Rolex sports watch as most people who arent watch nuts know a "Gold Rolex" and the Submariner.

See to be honest when it comes to a Rolex I think
white is more stealth, everyone thinks black due to
the Sub when they think Rolex Sports.

The Exp II is quickly becoming my favorite Rolex! Perfect size, not too heavy, and also pretty sharp looking. Not your common look for a watch.
The black face seems like an all purpose look, however the white face, in my opinion seems dressier.

I was going white until I saw the Sea Dweller Date at a local AD. The black dial was absolutely stunning without the Cyclops.

All it took was a "Cyclops-ectomy" for mine to have that same look:

White on black seems to go better with my attire.

I have a 7" wrist so my AD did remove one link to make the Explorer feel comfortably on its new home :)
