Thank you for all the responses. I didn't mean to post this on a public forum, I just didn't know what else to do as we are all just completely lost. Best Cop I ever knew. Honestly, I will never look at suicide the same because on the outside, he was a SUPER STAR. Never had a negative thing to say. When guys would get suspended he would give them cash to pay their bills. When guys got into a fight, he would be the first one there to handle the situation (he was a HUGE MMA/ JuJitsu guy). I guess sometimes you can't see everyone's demons.
We are all pulling together just great though. We have set up a go fund me page to pay for his kids college, and being apart of the Honor Guard I will have the distinct honor and fortune to stand guard at his casket all night, through the day, and until our department, another department, and the Marines send him off into Valhalla. Thanks for the support, and once again, Sorry for ranting on a public forum. In other news the YachtMaster, I cancelled the transaction due to it having some problems. Grief counselor said today not to make any rash decisions. I will be getting one for him that I can put his badge number and initials on. Who knows, when his 4 year old comes of age, I may just be able to pass it on to him. If anyone hears of any amazing deals on a 40mm let me know. I will be more than happy to post the picture after I get it custom done to remember my great friend who "saved me." Thank you all.

Sorry for your loss Tye.
Suicide is a huge problem in law enforcement and military circles. People don't understand the horrors that you all live with every day, and they don't want to know.

Its Ok to let it out on a public forum. For some of us its one of our avenues to connect with others and vent out what's inside...
Sorry for your loss, but never forget YOUR promise to him! May he RIP

Such a tragedy. Trusting others is a tuff part of many in blue or the military. Additionally, things they have experienced or seen are rarely conveyed to others. This makes for a potentially dangerous mixture. I wish these men and women would see the benefit of their close ties in terms of the psyche, as they do with their physical safety.

We just made his oldest daughter a promise tonight that we will walk with her, in uniform, for her graduation from HS in a few months. I gave her my personal challenge coin. She asked that we also show up for her dances etc. I will be there for everyone.
Like I said, his 4 children now have 1000 "dads" who will go out of their way to protect and help them. Just got his two badge numbers tattooed on me so I had them for the service:( he left our department a week ago just so he could make an extra few 1000 bucks so when he retired in a year or so his pension would be higher. Im the picture Im wearing my custom Explorer II (thin blue line edition.) Still debating if I should get the YachtMaster for him. (he was also a US Marine). Then getting some custom work done to it in honor of him. He was like my big brother. Do I necessarily have the money to freely throw at it? no, but what are credit cards for ha ha ha ha ha. Sorry trying to make jokes out of dark situations.

I've changed my mind..... Think I may just get the Explorer ii in White and get some custom work done on it for him. i know this is a 100% irrational decision as none of us are "thinking right" but I think I do like the explorers more than the yacht masters. I don't know. Looking online to buy something now. Im just looking for something to give me peace which ultimately I know won't happen, but its an excuse.

Well, tomorrow is the visitation and the ceremony. My brass is shined, cleaned the watch and put it on a rubber strap so it will fit with my Honor Guard Uniform, and I keep staring at the back of the watch, "Never Give Up."
Thanks for the support everyone.

RIP Leo Brother
Here is a little video I made in regards to the burial. Attempt 2 with the GoPro.
US Marine Corps performed TAPS and Flag Folding. VFW performed 21 gun salute, and our honor guard was in charge of standing vigil at his casket. https://youtu.be/P-3TeFboP58 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
