Not a huge Lexus fan. My dad had an LS and while it was a reliable car, when things went wrong, it wasn't any cheaper to repair than a German car. The overall quality was also less than 7 series or S class. I've driven an older IS250 on a few occasions and everything about it was a giant turn off for me.

I know you're looking for luxury more than performance, but I'd seriously look at a 335i vert. You're living the good life in La Jolla, man. Drive in style!
