Chaps

I would like two things :-

1. That bracelets on modern watches should be interchangeable. Why should say a SD4000 owner be compelled to wear a certain type of Daytona bracelet. Surely they should be able to have a Sub bracelet or even a Jubilee if they so wish.

2. Rolex to come up with some sort of adaptor that would allow me to fit a modern bracelet on my 16610 and 1655. The new bracelets are light years ahead of the old ones.

Regards

Mick

1. more ceramic daytonas

2. either maxi case on GMT/Subs polished down, or bracelet made gradually larger at the ends to look like it is the correct size

3. no cyclops magnification problems

4. more tudor north flag colour schemes instead of the current yellow

5. forged carbon tudor model

Two that should be really easy.

1. AR coating on the underside of ALL crystals.

2. On the Daytona, get rid of the 1/10 seconds track on the outside edge of the dial, redo it as 1/8.

42mm Explorer 1 with a date? Think of how tiny those hands would be then!

1. Extended hands on Explorer 39mm
2. DD offered in stainless steel
3. A new dial alternative on SS Daytona (panda?)
4. A Submariner on a rubber bracelet from the Yatch Master
5. New piece constructed out of ceramic, like Omega Dark Side of the Moon Speedy

Gosh, this is more fun than I thought!

Yes to #2 only I would prefer it without a Cyclops. In addition to the sea dwellers, on a whole, I wish they would add a few more dated models without the cyclops.

Really enjoyed reading all your suggestions when i woke up. Keep em coming!! This thread has been very cathartic for me. Hahaha.

For the people wanting longer hands on the 39mm explorer you should make sure you try it on. Myself and mamy others who own one agree that its a non issue on the wrist (discussed in another thread). Dont let this push you away from its classic beauty ☺

Agree with these, esp on the new DD40 it would have been nice to decorate and open up the caseback to go with the other great updates to PR, accuracy and durability. They shrunk the size so put the extra gold into a nice rotor.

Another one I would add which one member has mentioned was possible was for Rolex to sell you a dial on the same model and not confiscate your old dial.

In fairness Rolex PMs are priced quite reasonably when you look at them next to AP and PP, and you can usually get 20% plus off if you hunt around. The luxury/exclusivity premium will remain the priority over maximising PM sales.

Chances are Rolex would use the 3135 movement for that. That would push the date window in towards the center of the dial more. Like on the Sea Dweller but not as much as on the DSSD

They used to Neil. My father did a dial hands crown and bezel on his DJ in 89-90 at RSC NY. They sent him his original parts back. He still has everything

1.) No cyclops magnification issues - just purely inconceivable that this is an issue for Rolex!
2.) Date on the Daytona
3.) Submariner and Datejust II with TT ROSE GOLD (you can only get TT yellow gold)
4.) DateJust II with Jubilee Bracelet
5.) 72 hour power reserve on all models - just like another TRF Member stated above

If your AD has an in house watch maker he would probably brush your milgauss/Datejust for 200$ or so. If its purchased new from them you could probably negotiate it into the purchase.

(Realistic) - Day-date 40 with a leather strap (36mm day-date available on strap)
(unrealistic) - Day-date 40 in stainless steel

Here are some other changes I would be interested to see:

1. A Datejust 39-40mm with proportionate bezel and jubilee option. I feel this is realistic because Rolex recently downsized the Day-date

2. A 36 or 39mm OP with date. 34mm has a date currently. This could create a nice entry point for people looking for a well priced/sized Rolex with a date.

3. Oysterflex bracelet available on MORE sports models!! (perhaps unrealistic?)

----------------------------

That's all I can think of for now! Any more contributions ?
realistic?

oyster-flex band included with all sport models. or, as a replacement option at the ad with price adjusted to reflect.

if that's not realistic, rolex needs to give their head shake.

Adding a date to the Daytona

This is something a lot of people want to see but it would require a huge design and engineering change. In reality it would require a completely new movement that shifts the subdials from 3, 6, 9 to 12, 6, 9 and adds the date at 3. You could create a layered non integrated movement, as people do when they use a Dubois Depraz chrono module, but that adds height to the watch and typically adds inefficiencies in terms of power loss.

It's a very big undertaking. If Rolex do offer it expect it to come initially in pm only and at a significant price premium (+30%?) while still offering the non date model in parallel.
