So, brother in law's house after work, then later this evening a trip to a friend of mine, who's a watchmaker and also lives nearby, to get the bracelet adjusted... then

It arrived in Oakland at 5:45am...

"On FedEx vehicle for delivery" as of 8:07am.

It's now 9:16am... and I can't stop shaking with excitement.

How do weekends pass so quickly and times like these so slow?!

Incoming... My head hurts

Here they are

Well packaged

Unboxing happening...

Finally!

I check that all 11 links are present. Upon closer inspection I see that the bezel does not line up quite as nicely as I would like it - see one click before/after

Not to worry! I called my insurer and once this is covered, I'm heading to RSC to get this fixed and also to have the bracelet resized. I have the screwdriver and some loctite at home but since I'm heading there I might as well get a pro to do it. Wristshots to follow. Too afraid to bring it out before it is covered!

Have a good day everyone.

Thanks! I might actually take a weekend trip this weekend. Anyway jeffgo888- I see you have a hulk and a dssd too. Which is your go-to on most days or do you wear them 50/50?

Also, having had the dssd as a daily for a while now, the sub's clasp feels less solid when I click it in place (I'm referring to the first clip in, before the final clip with the Rolex logo). Winding of this watch also feels a little less smooth compared to the deepsea. Is it just me? I had a black SubC before the deepsea but I've long forgotten how it feels like to handle that watch.

The Sub's bracelet clasp is difft from the DSSD with regards to the glidelock.
Not sure, they both feel solid to me.
However, look at this pic, and for other members, the LEFT is the Hulk and the RIGHT is the DSSD.

Notice how the DSSD is shorter..weird..

can anyone else check?

Hmmm yeah now that you mention it; I didn't notice that. The clasp doesn't feel different on the wrist. I guess we learn new things everyday.

So which is your go-to day to day? I wonder if I'll end up going for one or the other on most days. If so I might just sell the one I don't wear. Don't quite fancy having watches sitting around unworn. Rather cash out and put that money to work 🙄
